SV9500 Network E&M trunk Card
E&M Trunk Introduction

E&M (Ear and Month) signalling, widely used for


interconnecting PBX for many years
• Speech channels
• 4 wire (speech channels) E&M trunks are normally used for connecting
transmission equipment
• 2 wire (speech channels) E&M trunks can be used for direct cable
connection in short distance
• Signalling E&M
• M contact for signalling sending
• E detector for signalling receiving
• Pulse, DTMF or MFC (Multiple Frequency Code) dialling are used
• Minor differences in signalling details depending on PBX suppliers and
countries.

SV9500 E&M Trunk Overview

• SCH-8ODTA containing 8 E&M trunks


• It supports:
• E&M type 1 or type 5
• 2 wire or 4 wire
• Immediate start and Wink start
• PB or DP dialing
• PAD adjustable
• It can be placed in any universal slot. It uses odd LG of the slot
• No additional license is required, except system capacity port license

• If MDF block has a 16 pairs, following rule can be used:
• TX0-7: Pair 1-8 (A/B0-8)
• RX0-3: Pair 9-12 (RA/RB0-3)
• E&M0-3: Pair 13-16
• M0-3: Wire38-41
• E0-3: Wire13-16

• E&M4-7 Pair 2, 4, 6, 8
• M4, 5, 6, 7: Wire27, 29, 31, 33 (white/orange, white/brown, red/blue, red/green)
• E4, 5, 6, 7: Wire2, 4, 6, 8 (orange/white, brown/white, blue/red, green/red)
