Part C: Professional conduct and Ethical Behaviour review Reflection

Description:

Slavery in the modern day is a misdemeanor and a breach of basic human rights.
Slavery, tyranny, coerced and compelled labor, and trafficking are some of the terms
used to describe the restriction of a person’s personal freedom by another for
purpose of personal or economic gain (Allain, 2009). The Modern Slavery Act was
recently applied to McLaren Group Ltd. McLaren is dedicated to operating
responsibly and with transparency in all of its businesses' interactions and
relationships, as well as to enacting and executing strong controls and procedures to
guarantee that modern slavery does not exist at all in its value chain (McLaren,
2020). McLaren's response to Section 54 of human rights is being guided by the
Human Rights ethical code of conduct. In this section, I'll use the DIEP reflective
system of reflective research to understand and evaluate this event, as well as give a
critical perspective on it.

Interpretation:

Slavery concerns exist in value chain, associated with elevated industries including
agriculture, constructions, domestic labor, entertainment, tourism, and
manufacturing. Slavery discovered in a firm's supply chain carries a major
reputational risk for the corporation, as well as a negative influence on its stock price
(ILO, 2019). As a result, suppliers as well as McLaren share responsibility for
appreciating and following with modern slavery, human trafficking, and other human
rights requirements. McLaren aspires to have processes in place that detect and
analyze significant risk categories in its supply chains, minimize the impact of slavery
and human trafficking in those networks, analyze possible risk area in those chains,
and defend whistleblowers (McLaren, 2020).

I began work as a trainee at McLaren on ____date___. McLaren has a Code of

Ethics and Business Conduct on its websites that applies to all elements of the
delivery of goods and services.
Evaluation:

According to research, over 40 million people are at risk of contemporary slavery

across the world. As businesses want to maintain sustainable daily operations,
combating modern slavery has become extremely important (Baptist, 2016). Since a
consequence, McLaren's method has evolved, as it has been applied similarly to
many of its withholdings firms, removing any biased or external variables. As a
consequence, employees will feel engaged and not discriminated against in the
company.

At McLaren, I had the opportunity to participate. Employees are urged to denounce

any action, behavior, or working circumstances within the company and any part of
its value chain that they believe represents modern slavery or human trafficking in
some of its aspects. Complaints can be submitted to their immediate supervisor, HR,
or anonymously in compliance with the company's Disclosure Policy.

Plan:

One of my key responsibilities as a team leader in the future would be to formulate

policies based on the appraisal of conditions. As a response, in order to improve
program management, I would like to discover about ethical standards of behavior
based on the Human Rights and Anti-Slavery Act in the workplace. In practice, a
code of ethics ensures that a reform plan is developed that is based on evaluation
techniques, leads to more accurate conclusions. As an individual, I feel I would
endeavor to improve my understanding of corporate, international, and transnational
standards of behavior in order to guarantee that unified rules and processes are in
place to prevent situations like this. Accessing online resources and engaging in
learning activities would help me improve my abilities. I'll also gather information on
the company's policies and collect feedback from employees as I develop the
policies. This will help me establish plans that will benefit both the organization and
the employees. It will also help the organization develop proactive and efficient
processes that are in compliance with existing codes and conducts, eliminating bias
issues. By using this technique, I hope to advance as a competent project leader
with important knowledge into legislation, ethical standards, and policy development
talents.
