The Safe Food for Canadians Act consolidated 14 sets of regulations,

including the Organic Regulations, into one to overcome the risks and
challenges posed by the speed, volume and complexity of present day
food production. The initial law came into force on January 15, 2019:
1. Import Licensing SFC CFIA
2. Create a Preventative Control Plan to identify and controlling risks
on FF&V, Animal Protein and Food CPG. CanadaGAP or HACCP
system.
3. Traceability. Identify food items with labels for lot codes or other
unique identifier. Trace the food one step back & one step forward
