REFLECTIVE ANALYSIS ON WEBINAR ENTITLED

EDUCATIONAL ACTION RESEARCH

I. INTRODUCTION

This webinar entitled "Educational Action Research" was conducted on the 9th day of November 2021
via zoom and Facebook live platforms. It was initiated by the Institute of Global Professionals. In this
webinar they have discussed the importance, purpose and the parts of action research. To give an
overview Action research involves a systematic process of examining the evidence. The results of this
type of research are practical, relevant, and can inform theory. Action research in educational contexts
covers teaching and learning, child protection policy , human development resources and
governance. Action Research is a research that any of us can do on his/her own practice to improve it.

II. SALIENT POINTS

In this webinar they have highlighted the importance of Educational Action Research. Action Research
is a self – reflective inquiry by participants, undertaken in order to improve their own educational
practices in classroom situations. Action research is most helpful when it is self-critical and starts from
recognition of a problem or statement, understanding, collecting data and then self-evaluating and then
finally improving teaching practices. Action research has multiplier affect not only for teachers wherein
they improve their teaching practices but also positive impact on students engagement and renewed
interest in classroom and studies.

Another highlight of this webinar the use and purpose of action research in the educational
contexts. As tackled the goal of action research is to understand what is happening in a specific
school/classroom and to determine what might improve student learning in that setting. They also
highlighted the advantage and key takeaways of doing an action research. As well as the things to
consider in conducting action research, the process and flow of action research and lastly the model
of action reseach.

III. REFLECTION

I have learn that Action Research in education is important because it contributes to the development in
the field. Proving theories, creating new methodologies, and practical solutions are all the outcomes of
the research in the education area. It plays a vital role – bringing innovation and progress. It also enables
us as teachers to perfect the learning processes for the benefit of the students. I also learned that
Action research in education is anything related to evaluating and analyzing issues and weak spots in the
learning process. Unlike other types of research, this one is very practical. It may help us as teachers
transition from the old methodologies to newer and more effective ones. Teachers get practical
solutions to solve problems in the teaching and learning process and meet the special needs of their
students.I have realized hat we shoud conduct action research it is necessary for all us educators
because doing an action research we will help to improve our teaching strategies , practices and
knowledge. Action Research is a problem based research it is useful in solving classroom problems. It
is the best way to find solution to the problems of our students that we have encounter in school and
in the classroom thus it makes sense that the classroom we handle is being manageable. I also
realized that action research helps teachers grow personally and professionally. In conclusion DepEd
Action Research is a process of systematic, reflective inquiry to improve educational practices or resolve
problems in any operating unit like school, classroom or office.

IV. IMPLICATION

In my own point of view the significance of this webinar is to inform every teacher and educator to
do an Action Research because it improves processes of learning and teaching as well as enhancing
teacher's abilities. It contributes knowledge development, practical improvement, and policy
information. This webinar wants to instill to the mind of every educators that they can use those
research findings to improve their competences and teaching and learning practices. I think the other
value of the webinar is to encourage every teacher and educator to conduct action research for them
to reflect on their performance and learning materials and methodology, in order to improve it.
