1. Bhakti Yoga
Bhakti is the sum of devotion, ultimately to God, but
it may initially be a guru, your family, a friend or
anything that creates a strong emotional connection.
In today's world with so much chaos and confusion,
it is said that devotion is the easiest path. It can be
practiced by anyone – regardless of mental or
physical abilities – and does not involve extensive
yoga practice
Bhakti is the path of love which removes jealousy,
hatred, lust, anger, ego, pride and ego. It replaces
those feelings with feelings of bliss, divine ecstasy,
bliss, peace and wisdom
2. Karma Yoga
Karma means "action," and karma yoga is
performing action without attachment to the result.
This is the path of selfless service (service). You stop
identifying with the ego and all actions are seen as an
offering to God.
The heart is purified so ego, hatred, jealousy,
selfishness, and so on disappear, making room for
humility, pure love, empathy, tolerance, and
compassion.
Karma yoga is "doing the right thing" - the process of
achieving perfection in action. It means following
one's dharma (true purpose) and accepting whatever
comes without expectation of payment, thanks or
recognition.
4. Raja Yoga
Raja Yoga means "royal path." Just as a king
exercises control over his kingdom, you must
maintain control of your "kingdom"—the vast area of
your mind.
This is the path of meditation, mantras and
techniques. The basic theme of Raja Yoga is that
disturbance of the mind obscures your perception of
the divine soul. If the body and the mind can be
made stable and pure, the soul will immediately
glow.
Raja Yoga is the most preferred path by Westerners
as it can be practiced by almost everyone who does
not require any faith or special beliefs. Raja Yoga
says to believe in what you discover for yourself
through direct experience.
four paths
Even though these four paths may appear to be
different, they are in fact one Yoga, a union. We may
be more attracted to one path than others but they
complement each other. As the saying goes, "all
roads lead to Rome," so all roads lead to
enlightenment.
The paths are like four separate threads woven
together to form a single rope, each strengthened by
the other. Pick whatever aspects of each path
resonate with you, and start incorporating them into
your life. Find joy in your daily practice and let it
guide you.
