SECTION B- CASES

This section has three cases, Answer any TWO(2)

b. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the call for wide spread social distancing as
well as lock-downs of entire cities in some countries.

Explain the term Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Point out some tangible
happenings in the societies now that explain why you believe some persons across the
world may likely be impacted by this mental health issue (PTSD) after the COVID-19
has passed. (8 mks)

c. Eighty year-old Sebastian Cameron sits on his verandah watching the sun set. This is his
regular seat with his grandson Timothy. 6 year-old Timothy likes when grandpa tells him
all the exciting fun stories about his life experiences while growing up as a boy. They
would sit for hours and laugh about the stories until it was bed time. Grandpa never
seemed to forget any of his experiences.
i. Distinguish between the following categories of memory: Declarative,
Procedural, and Semantic memories.(3mks)
ii. Grandpa Sebastian is retrieving his memories from one of these categories of Long
term memories.

d. Charmaine was diagnosed with schizophrenia last week.  This morning the government
announced that Jamaica has one reported case of COVID-19. In addition to the report of a
positive patient, Charmaine’s University announced that all her face to face classes are
being shifted online, and her employer has advised all employees to remain home until
further notice.Given your knowledge of schizophrenia:

What are some of the possible symptoms that Charmaine may experience given the
added stress the pandemic experience may trigger? Ensure your response also relates to
