If thickness is greater than 15 mm, holding time shall be 90 minutes. Controlled cooling down from holding temperature to 65°C with a maximum cooling rate af 150°C / hour. ‘Temperature shall be maintained at 65°C for 4 hour. PWHT data shall be as follows: Heating up from 65°C to 300°C with 2 maximum heating rate of 150°C /hour. Heating from 300°C to 5S0°C with a maximum heating rate of 80°C / hour, Heating from 550°C to 755°C with a maximum heating rate of S5°C / hour. Holding temperature shall be 755 25°C Holding time shall be 2,4 times of pipe wal thickness and In any case min. 2 hours. I thickness/time calculation is more than 320 minutes, calculated value will be used as holding time. Controlled cooling down from holding temperature to 550°C with @ maximum cooling rate of 55°C / hour. Controlled cooting down from holding $50°Cto 300°C with a maximum cooling rate of 80°C / hour. Free cooling after 300°C shall be by covering the joint with insulation material or by using the existing insulation material an the joint. ‘Machine can be shutdown but recorders should continue to run till ambient temperature ‘Thermocouple quantity and locations Pipe size of 6 included) and below, 1 no. of thermocouple shall be located on the weld at 12 o'lock position. From 8" upto 12" (both included) nominal pipe sles, minimum 2 nos. of thermocouples sal be located one at 6 and 12 o'clock positions (280° apart) on the weld joint. From 14" up to 18" (oth included) nominal pipe sizes minimum 3 nos. of thermocouples shall be located at 13, 1, and 6 o'clock postions on the weld joint. From 20" up to 30” (both included) nominal pipe sizes minimum 4 nos. of thermocouples shal be located at 3, 6,9, and 12 o'clock postions (90° apart) on the weld joint. From 32" up to 46” (both included) nominal pipe sizes minimum 5 nos. of thermocouples shall belecatad 360° dviding byS (72° apart) respectively on the weld joint. From 48" upto 72" (bth included) nominel pipe sizes minimum 6nos, of thermocouples shall be located 360° dividing by 6 (60° apart) respectively on the weld joint. Hardness Test and locations 100% hardness test shall be applied on the weld joint, and heat affected zones and base metals in both sides for each location (BM, HAZ, WM, HAZ2, 812). Brinell Hardness (HB) shall not exceed 200 HB and Vickers Harcness (HV) shall nt exceed 210 HV for carbon stee! after PWHT. Brinell Hardness (HB) shall not exceed 225 HB and Vickers Hardness (HV) shall not exceed 230 HV for P11 after PWHT. Brinell Hardness (HB) shall not exceed 235 HA and Vickers Hardness (HV) shall not exceed 248 HV for P22/PS & P9 after PWHT. Brinell Hardness (HB) shall not exceed 248 HB and Vickers Hardness (HV) shall not exceed 261 HV for P91 after PHT. Pipe size of 6" (included) and below, hardness shall be measured from one location at 12 o'clock position. From 8" end up to 22" (both included) norninal pipe sizes, hardness shall be measured from two locations at 6 and 12 o'clock positions (280° apa. From 24” and up to 40" (both included) nominal pipe sizes, hardness shall be measured from three locations at 3, 6 and 12 o'clock positions. From 42” and up to 72" (both included) nominal pipe sizes, hardness shall be measured from four locations at3, 6,9 and 42 o'clock positions {90° apart), For P81, hardiness shall be measured from four lacations at 3, 6, 9. and 12 o'clock positions (90" apart) regardless of diameter for the frst 4 welds of each welder. Ifthe results are satisfactory on the fst four welds, only oe location for each weld wil be tested (location tobe selected by welding inspector)
