1. Project Sponsor: - Project Sponsor will be a stakeholder for the project who will
be responsible for the costing of the project.
2. Project Manager: - Project Manager will be stakeholder for the project who will
be looking into the scheduling and time lines of the project.
3. Implementation team: - The implementation team will be the stakeholder of the
project who will be responsible for the implementation and configuration of the
hospital management software application.
4. TPA: - Third Party Administrator will be a stakeholder of the project who will be
using the software for managing the insurance details of the patients.
5. Administrative department head: - The Administrator head who will be looking
after the overall management of the application. They will be monitoring the
appointment for the patients as well as sending reminders to them for the
appointment via SMS service.
6. Pathology Department: - Pathology department head will be a stakeholder in this
project whose team will be using the hospital management software for viewing
the prescribed lab test of the patients admitted as well as uploading the test
report in the software for pursual of the doctors.
7. Warden: - Warden will be a stakeholder of the project as they will be using the
software for checking of availability of rooms.
8. Doctors: - The doctors will be stakeholder who will be using the software for
checking their appointments, giving prescription, prescribing various test,
prescribing drugs, viewing the reports.
9. Nurses: - Nurses will be using the software application to provide prescribed
medicines to the admitted patients.
10. Finance Department: - The finance department will be using the software for the
billing purpose.
11. Senior Management: - Senior management will be a stakeholder for the project
who will be using the software various reporting purpose like revenue
generation, cash inflow and outflow etc.
Scope
• Mention the scope of the system. How this will help respective stakeholder.
• Administration Staff will be able to use the application for maintaining patient records.
• Doctors will be able to view the patient details online, prescribe medicine and lab test as
well as can see the report of the patients online.
• Wardens will be able to check and update the ward details on regular basis.
• Nurses will be able to check their assigned ward and duty hours as well as the prescribed
medicine for the patients who are admitted in the hospital.
• Lab technician will be able to view the prescribed lab test and upload the test report
through the application.
• Senior management will be able to generate the reports which they want to view on ad
hoc basis.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The functional requirements will be as below: -
FR_1.1.1: - Patients should be able to view the schedules of the doctors online and then should be
able to take Doctor’s appointment successfully via online registration to the portal.
FR_1.1.2: - Administrative Staff should be able to send reminders for the appointment to the
patients. Administrative Staff should be able to register the patient details on hospital visit.
FR_1.1.3: - Doctor’s should be able to login to the HMS successfully and view their scheduled
appointments. They should be able too send the prescription to the patient as well to the lab
technician if any lab test are required. For the prescribed lab test Doctor’s should be able to view
the test report. In case of patient admission to ward Doctor should be able to prescribe the list of
medicine and schedule.
FR_1.1.5: - Warden should be able to update the list of available categories of rooms after every 6
hours. Warden should be able to update the in & out of the ward. Warden should be able to view
their personal details in the employee section
FR_1.1.4: - Nurses should to login to the HMS and check for their assigned ward in which patient
is admitted. Nurses should be able to view the schedule of the medicine as prescribed by the
doctors as well as the details of other nurses who are attending the patient. Nurses can use the
HMS for their personal details stored in the Employee data base.
FR_1.1.5: - Laboratory department should be able to view the prescribed test for the patient and
then upload the test report as well as the cost of the test for billing purposes. Lab employees can
view/update their details in the employee section.
FR_1.1.6: - Billing Department should be able to generate the bills for the admitted patients and
send it to the Admin department for completing discharge formalities. Administrative staff can
can view/update their details in the employee section.
FR_1.1.7: - Senior Management should be able to view/generate the various reports on Ad-hoc
basis as well as other reports like revenue report, room availability report, income from various
lab test reports should be generated via online/batches on the set frequency. Senior management
can view/update their details in the employee section.
FR_1.1.8: - TPA should be able to store the insurance information of the admitted patient and send
to the insurance company for claim puproses.
NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The non-functional requirement for the Hospital Management Software should be as
below: -
System Requirement:
Usability: - The web-based hospital management software application should be user friendly.
Navigation of the various tabs should be easy to understand so that all the stakeholders should
be able to use the application without any Hussle.
