1. Intrinsic Elements of Drama

In order to analyze a drama, there are four intrinsic elements of drama to make a
perfect portion of one.
 Plot, the way the author builds and organizes a chain of events in a narrative.
Briefly, Plot is the foundation of a story.
 Characters, a character is a person, or other creature that appears in a story.
Writes use characters to perform the actions and speak dialogues, unraveling
the story along the plot line.
 Setting, the time and place of the story and introduced during the exposition
(beginning) of the story.
 Point of View, the perspective from which a story is told.
2. Plot
Set in the future, "Passengers" centers on Jim Preston, a mechanic on a 120-year
journey to a distant colonized planet in another galaxy, who becomes the first traveler
to experience pod hibernation failure. Having woken up 100 years too soon, he is
stranded in the world of an interstellar spaceship with only robots and androids for
companionship. A year into his journey, he decides to wake up a fellow passenger, a
beautiful journalist named Aurora. They fall in love but must soon deal not only with
the revelation of Jim's misjudged act of waking her but a major malfunction of the
ship itself.

3. Exposition
The spaceship Avalon is on a 120-year voyage to colonize the planet Homestead
II. On board are 258 crew and 5,000 passengers, the first inhabitants of the planet.
They will be in hibernation for nearly all of the 120 years. However, after only 30
years, one of the passengers, Jim Preston, is awoken from his hibernation. Try as he
might, he cannot re-hibernate himself. He resigns himself to not living to see the end
of the voyage. Out of loneliness, he thinks of de-hibernating one of the female
passengers.

4. Rising Action
It's now two years since the meteor collision. One day Gus Mancuso wakes up
and appears on the concourse, he is a deck crew chief and has woken up early.
Hibernation Pods have never failed before, and he explains that something major is
wrong.
5. Climax
It The Passengers Movie climaxed when Jim and Aurora had to fix a hole made
by a meteorite that goes through some critical areas that caused every malfunctions in
the first place. Jim has to sacrifice himself to fix the hole, when Jim feels like in the
brink of death floating in the space, Aurora came and saved him.

6. Falling Action
Later, things are back to normal on the ship. Jim works on the auto-doc and tells
Aurora he found that using the command override he could put her back in
hibernation in the infirmary, but he would be alone again. Aurora chooses to stay
awake with Jim and make a life with him on the ship, together.

7. Resolution
88 years later, It's the end of the voyage, and the captain and crew awake and
come to the grand concourse to find there is a huge tree, lots of trailing vines and
vegetation, birds flying, and a cabin. Aurora's voice-over is reading her story to the
passengers, explaining how they made a good life where they were..

9. Setting
Setting of time and place where Passengers occurs is takes places inside Avalon
spaceship, in a distant future. As it shows the futuristic Avalon spaceship itself, Space
and Stars background, and a lot of hibernation pod.

10. Point of View

We go through Jimmy Preston, a mechanical engineer point of view throughout
the movie as he is the first person that woke up because of his hibernation pod
malfunction.

11. Conclusion
Passengers Movie directed by Morten Tyldum is a Movie that takes 01:56:34 of
Runtime. Jim Preston, learns this truth in a hard way. Jim is in a hibernation pod on
the spaceship Avalon, headed from Earth to a colony planet called Homestead II,
when the ship goes through a meteor shower. This jars the craft, and causes his
hibernation pod to open. There are intrinsic elements of drama found. With the
resolution of the Passengers Movie after 88 years, the Avalon spaceship finally
managed to arrive on its destination safely.
