Student Teacher: Sule, Romero E.

Cooperating Teacher: Ms. Janet Balbalosa Dasalla

Things I have learned from my cooperating teacher:

 Time Management. Ma’am Janet always taught us to manage our time wisely. Time really plays a
crucial role in my internship program. Without time management, many important things can be put at
risk especially the things on the priority list. Ma’am Janet is the one who puts emphasis on this matter,
and it really helped me a lot throughout my journey at the First Uniting Christian School.
 Building Rapport. One asset that a teacher really needs is to have a connection with the students.
Building a good rapport with the students will greatly increase the possibility of learning inside the
class. When students feel comfortable with their teacher, they will express active participation and
respect. This one is indeed an important part of my teaching internship that Ma’am Janet has taught
me.
 Being well-prepared. This one focuses on the preparedness of a teacher before entering the class.
Ma’am Janet always taught us to be prepared before entering the class especially in this new kind of
setup which is the online class. We have to be sure that the lesson will be executed well for the
students to gain and acquire the learning they need. Fortunately, I put this matter in mind and did not
forget any single moment of unpreparedness. I could say that my every entrance and exit in the class
was an A-plus.
 PowerPoint Presentation. In order for the students to have visuals about the lesson, a
PowerPoint presentation is a must. Ma’am Janet taught me the importance of having a simple
presentation yet with a powerful impact on content and learning.
 Smile. Showing a smile and joy in a face is indeed necessary especially in the online class. Ma’am
Janet always reminds us to smile every time entering the class. In this way, the teacher will catch the
interest of the students.

Things I need to improve to myself as a teacher:

 Grammar Lapses. It is difficult to speak our second language. Ma’am Janet has noticed some
ungrammatical in my speaking. She emphasized that it was inevitable but as much as possible, try to
practice more for betterment. I hope in this internship, I managed to lessen my ungrammatical.
 Time Management. Teaching in a limited time is indeed pressure to every teacher. Knowing that
we have only 55 minutes to finish all the lessons that were on the lesson plan. Ma’am Janet always
reminds me to be aware of the time because I have always the tendency to exceed the given time.
