Uplive Agency Leaders:

This document is created for the purpose of assisting Agency Leaders on Uplive to be aware of best practices
and to better support their hosts. This is NOT an official document by Uplive, Asia Innovations. This is written
by Kat Kokenes, for the sole purpose to assist agencies under my talent management.

Section 1, Tips for Hosts, was written by @Hulagirl017, a successful host and staff member.
Section 8 and 9, Backend Access and Host Management System were written by Agency Leader, Jelo, UpID
@gelovox10.

1. Tips for Hosts

Make sure you have a well lit stream with a great background and HD camera/phone capabilities. This is of
course written in the contract but trust me— you attract more gifters with this very important detail. Example:

Uplive - Asia Innovations Group 2

Profile Picture - This is the very first thing everyone sees. The bait, if you will. So important! Make sure you
have a high quality, attractive picture.

Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... we’re all different and attractive in many ways. That’s what
makes the US so eclectic.

Just remember the whole point of this app is to want to get people in your room and host/entertain. So make
sure your picture is INVITING. You’re all worth the investment which is why you were contracted. So show the
company your professionalism and invest in yourself. Do NOT use too much FONT / TEXT or Logos that block
your photo.

Room Admins - Pick trustworthy admins and put them to good use!
Don’t “kick out” immediately (unless you’re of course uncomfortable), just have them “ban on speaking” so
you can continue to get that view count.

Please remember: Some VIPs (high gifters) are coming in from different countries and don’t speak much
English or they are just observing... DON’T kick them out just because they’re “lurking”! We don’t have the
luxury to be picky with our gifters... high gifters won’t want to visit US hosts if they hear we keep kicking them
all the time. Not to mention having VIPs in your room boosts your popularity.

If you have multiple admins in your stream at the same time consider having them do multiple roles: one does
the banning, one thanks/welcomes viewers etc.

Send small gifts to your admins (through dm works too)— they not only do a lot of work but they actually
support and help your stream be the best it can be.

● Learn basic thank you and hello in different languages. Even the effort of trying goes a long way.

Uplive - Asia Innovations Group 3

Attention - Even if there is no one interacting with you or commenting back... keep talking! No it’s not weird,
and yes it scares away gifters when you’re just staring at your computer screen or folding laundry, and this is
against the host contract rules. You can be banned and fined for ‘killing time’ and not interacting in your live
stream.

Do some fun challenges while streaming by asking questions, or taking polls, “Everyone who agrees with me,
type 1.”

Remember— there’s a lag, so gifters come in and see you before you see them. Don’t let them catch you being
unprofessional.

Broaden the Field - Stream at different times of your day (especially if you’re just starting out) so you can
find the right time slot that fits you. Early morning (PST US) you get a lot of Chinese viewers, afternoon
(12:30pm-3pm PST US) you get the Arabic audience and evening is a little mixing pot of all. Which is ideal but
the most popular and competitive time.

Party Stream - When you host a party stream or a “9-chair stream” the default settings are set to invite
every single person that enters your room. Please be very careful as you can get random strangers that like to
show themselves. Here are the steps to disabling that:

1. Click on the purple “que” button.

2. Then click on “Party Mode Setting”.
3. Turn off “Auto-Invite”.

Cash Out - We now recommend Payoneer for cash out. Here is a video link tutorial to link your PayPal and
cash out the coins you earn as a contracted host: https://youtu.be/otf45WawDeY .
**You need to at least be level 10 to cash out**

8K coins = $50 cash out

Level 10 - Level 29 ---- Cash out $100 USD/daily
Level 30 and higher ---- Cash out $300 USD/daily

Gifters
Uplive - Asia Innovations Group 4
Video Link - Be friendly!! Gifters like to be welcomed and have your attention. For that reason, it is
recommended not to video link too much in your live streams.

Before you start your broadcast click on the link option to disable it and that’ll keep people from linking and
those annoying red notifications.

Party Streams VS Solo Streams - While hanging out with your friends is fun, you have to remember (as a
host) why you’re here. To make money. Gifters will sometimes avoid Party Streams for the following reasons:

1. They don’t have enough diamonds to gift everyone. This makes them feel really bad or awkward.
2. Impersonal - Some party streams are too busy, too loud and just too chaotic. It’s sometimes hard to
listen to so many people trying to talk over one another.
3. While all gifters are different one thing a gifter has in common is the attention. Be sure you
acknowledge the gifter for the gifts, and send them a thank you on the App via DM after each stream.

Of course, Party Streams have their perks. Especially when it comes to events. If done right, it can be a great
asset. Just remember balance is key.

Tag Line/Stream Caption - “Road to 80K”, “Just 5K Away”, “Working those 30hrs” are tag lines that make
some gifters STAY AWAY! Gifters don’t want to know this is work for you... they want send gifts because you’re
talented and having FUN.

I also notice some hosts will talk to other hosts about their contracts WHILE STREAMING!! Stop! This is
absolutely prohibited.

Uplive - Asia Innovations Group 5

PK Battles - Let’s be honest here, these battles are between gifters not hosts. So make it fun and interesting!
Ex: Let’s not forget it’s a competition, singers have the advantage here but all hosts can make it fun and
creative with a lip sync battle or dance battle.

Don’t just use this time as another “video link” call. That gets boring to watch as a gifter.

And set the terms in the beginning— ex: “the host that loses needs to do (insert appropriate dare here)”. That
way gifters have fun as well.

2. Host Compensation
Host Payment Calculation Rules:
● Hosts must meet all days, hours and ucoins requirements in order to get paid for bonus/base pay,
otherwise it will be cashout only. 1 hour minimum per stream will be counted, less than 1 hour will not
be counted. App is based on Beijing Time which means coins and days are counted using Beijing Time.
Voice, 9 beam guests days/hours are not counted, but coins will be counted. User front end report may
be different from backend because front end counts voice and 9 beams and counts all time, backend
only counts video and only 1 hour and above are counted.
● Hosts who spend more than $1000 or more per month can have days/hours reduced to 10 days /20 hours,
Those who spend more than $2000/month can have days/hours reduced to 5 days /10 hours

@uplive.usa in your social posts. Uplive will monitor whether hosts are following our channels and

7. Host Management System Backend Access

All agency leaders should be given backend access to the Host Management System. This will allow
agencies to enter in their own hosts data upon recruiting new hosts. This will also empower the agency
leaders to run their own reports to see if their hosts are meeting their requirements.

Be sure to request backend access from your Business Development contact or your Talent Manager. This
will take 3-5 business days and you will receive an email from Uplive with an URL link, user name (your email
address) and a password. Be sure to enter your new hosts into the system before the last day of the month
in order for them to be paid for that month. Also ensure your hosts have signed the latest contract!

8. Host Enrollment in System

Hosts need to be added to the backend system via the Host Management System by the agency leaders. If
hosts are NOT entered before the 28th of the month, the host will not be paid for that month.

1. Log into the Host Management System and select “host management” from menu
2. Select Host List
3. Select ADD to add new host.

Uplive - Asia Innovations Group 9

5. If you encounter an error while attempting to enter a host, it could be incorrect ID OR the host may be
contracted and enrolled under another agency. You cannot add hosts if they already belong to
another agency.

9. Host Reports
The application is constantly updating. Be sure you have the latest version! This section will cover how to
export an agency report on all of your hosts to ensure they are meeting their goals.

Getting accurate reports from the backend and front end has been a challenge for hosts and agency leaders,
however Uplive is constantly iterating, updating the app. Please be sure you’re on the latest version.

For Host Management reports, we recommend running a combination of reports and joining the data
together for the most precise and accurate view.

1. Go to http://h5.upliveapp.com/union-admin/ and login with your Email and password

2. Select Host Management

Google Sheets and Import.

8. Remove all the unwanted/unnecessary Columns except the Critical fields. Some of the characters will
appear as symbols because the original exported report exports in Chinese. Just focus on the following
columns.

-> UID
-> Nickname
-> UPID
-> Total effective video stream days
-> Ucoins Collected

Uplive - Asia Innovations Group 14

9. Sort the uCoins (Gift Sum) in a Descending order

Uplive - Asia Innovations Group 15

10. Hours and days must be carefully reviewed as there are several types of live streaming hours and days
reported: game streams, audio streams, party room streams and solo video streams. The host pay only
compensates for VIDEO DAYS/HOURS and party rooms are only counted for the HOST of the party.

DO NOT COUNT THE HOURS/DAYS on THE TOTAL EFFECTIVE STREAM TIME! This includes voice and party.

NOTE: There can be delays in reporting, thus we only guarantee payment based on the final reports run by
China directly from the database. Payment reports are sent out a few days after the payments are sent.

9. Payment and Cash Out Issues

All Payment issues and Cash Out problems should be directly to China via Customer Support (CS). The
agency leaders can reach out to me, Kat Kokenes, and I will submit the issue on a CS Request tracker. The
following issues are handled directly by CS, as Talent Managers or BD’s do not have the authority to resolve
these:
● Payment Issues - must be reported on tracker - if wrong PayPal was given, or host was not entered
into the system on time, then the host may not get paid. This can take 1 month to resolve.
● Cash Out issues - this must be reported on Lark chat, an Uplive Staff messenger app with China. This
can take 5 business days to resolve.
● Agency changes - must be reported on tracker, only CS can move hosts

Uplive - Asia Innovations Group 16

10. VIP Recharges
Agency leaders and their hosts should encourage all their gifters to recharge via PayPal with an official Uplive
recharger (Hulagrl017 or Xian). If you purchase diamonds directly on the app, it charges you fees and you
get fewer diamonds for your money.
● App recharges $1 = 42 diamonds
● VIP recharges $1 = 60 diamonds (requires PayPal or Payoneer)

11. Host Violations and Fines

Hosts will be penalized for violating the terms and conditions of their contract. They must not leave the
stream for more than 5 minutes during 1 hour streams. The host must be interactive and engaging. They
cannot take phone calls during the live stream (black screen).
● First violation = $50 fee
● Second violation = $100 fee
● Third violation = Terminated contract

12. Host Bans

Hosts will be banned if they are caught violating the terms and conditions of their contract. In order to
request for the ban to be lifted, the agency leader needs to reach out to their Talent Manager (me), and
submit the request in the following format, “Host UID xxxxxxxx requests an unban. First time ban for 24
hours, please unban.” Please submit the request on Telegram directly to me.
