1. Meals can be cooked by different forms of preparation, providing that you use the ingredients and portions listed in the menu.
2. Meals should be consumed every day at the same time to avoid changes in appetite and weight.
3. FRUITS: Consume any fruit according to your liking, however, try to vary the type of fruit and avoid blending into juice.
4. VEGETABLES: Consume any vegetable according to your liking; however, try to vary the type. These can be eaten raw, steamed,
boiled, or in a soup.
5. DAIRY: Prefer almond or soy milk. Avoid cow’s milk, yellow cheese and yogurt.
6. CEREALS & TUBERS (STARCH): Prefer oats, wheat bread, whole grain cereals, wheat pasta, whole corn, corn tortillas, brown rice,
and sweet potato. Avoid refined carbohydrates such as white flour tortilla, white rice, cakes, puddings, sweet breads, and other
products made from sugar and white flour.
7. FOODS DERIVED FROM ANIMAL: Choose protein sources low in fat such as chicken, eggs, fish, lean beef, and tuna in water. (90
Grams = size of the palm of your hands). Avoid foods with unhealthy fats such as pork, pork ham, bacon, sausage, salami, and
other processed meats.
8. OILS: Prefer vegetable oils: olive, corn, soy, safflower, canola, or grapeseed. Try to avoid coconut oil, palm oil, butter, margarine,
lard, mayonnaise, and salad dressings. Only use a minimum amount (the oil in the menu is for cooking). Avocado is an oil, use
when in season.
9. LEGUMES & NUTS: All types of beans can be included in the daily meals. Nuts such as peanuts, cashew, almonds, pistachios and
walnuts can be included as an evening snack.
10. LIQUIDS: The best source of liquids is water, drink up to 2 liters or more a day. Green tea can also be added to your daily meals.
Sweeten with natural honey.
