About Your Book:

Please provide a technical description of the project (at least 3 paragraphs) and what this book
is about. (Aim and scope.)
Automation or automatic control is the use of various control systems for operating
equipment such as machinery, processes in textile industries. Automation refers as “the creation
and application of technology to monitor and control the production and delivery of products and
services. A control and instrumentation knowledge is essential for Textile and Electrical
Engineers to work in various sectors in textile manufacturing industries. They are responsible for
designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining equipment which is used to
monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes. Automation in Textile
Machinery – Design Principle of Instrumentation and Control Systems – this book mainly deals
about comprehensive analysis of the current trends and technologies in automation and control
systems used in textile engineering. Instrumentation is the use of measuring instruments to
monitor and control a process. It is the art and science of measurement and control of process
variables within a production, laboratory, or manufacturing area. The control systems descript in
all chapters was to dissect the important components of an integrated control system in spinning,
weaving, knitting, chemical processing and garment industries and then to determine if and how
the components are converging to provide manageable and reliable systems throughout the chain
from fibre to the ultimate customer. Although the implementation of advanced process control
strategies is not foreseen in immediate future, it is apparent that the textile industry is slowly
moving towards modular machines and systems. The dedicated systems still prevalent today are
gradually being replaced by standard units, distributed automation concepts and an increasing
connectivity of the production floor with planning and scheduling systems.

systems in the textile and apparel industries . Also this book provides the
need of automation in textile machineries especially in spinning, weaving,
knitting and apparel industries.
2. Instrumentation and control system describes the design features of
machinery for operating various textile machineries in product
manufacturing. This may be helpful for the Instrumentation engineers to
know how the basic principle of textile control systems and the instruments
used in the textile industries
3. This book very helpful to robotics, instrumentation, electrical and textile
engineers to update the knowledge on control systems of various textile
machineries.
4. This book also highlights the need of robotics in textile engineering.
5. This book will pave new platform to engineers to design material handling
systems and automation in textile machineries, also elaborates the overall
idea and scope of research in designing textile machineries.

When will the manuscript be considered complete and ready to be sent to CRC Press to enter
production? MAY 2016

Please Note: The average book takes about six full months to publish
(sometimes a bit longer depending on size or complexity). Please give yourself
enough time to fully complete this manuscript and request a technical review
from your colleagues.

Book Preparation:

What program will you prepare your text in? Please indicate with an (X), below:

(X) Explanations
MS Word (X) Author will double-space the manuscript and
unembed the figures from the text and save each
figure separately in a separate folder as an eps, jpeg,
giff, or tiff file with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
CRC Press will format the pages.
Latex Camera-Ready Author will use CRC Press template in Latex and
format their own pages and then incorporate CRC
Press changes after a proofread for final printer-ready
pages.
Latex Hybrid The Author shall provide application files in Latex but
is not responsible for embedding fonts or

Press proofreads. Final pages are handled by CRC.

6|Page
What is your estimate of the number of pages in the final manuscript?
250-300

Single-spaced
Double-spaced

Will MATLAB be included in your book? Any other simulation program?

Yes Simulation program will be included.

Please describe the online enhancements necessary for your book if applicable. They will be
hosted on our website.
Book title is enough

Will color figures or photographs be necessary in your manuscript?

No

If yes, please indicate the number of figures or photographs necessary for color:
-

How many black and white photographs will be included?

Appro 150 to 180

We request that SI Units – International System of Units be used as well as US throughout to

appeal to our global audience.
Please confirm you can or cannot do this?
Yes
No
If No, please explain: -

ACCEPTABLE SOFTWARE FOR TEXT, TABLES, AND EQUATIONS FOR DISC BOOKS:
Text: Microsoft Word is the only acceptable format for text. Manuscripts written in other word
processors that are converted to Word may have corruption issues so this method is not
recommended. WordPerfect software is not acceptable software for text.
Equations: They should be created using the inherent equation editor within Microsoft Word
(versions 2010 and newer). Note that versions of Microsoft Word prior to 2010 utilize

7|Page
MathType as the equation editor which is no longer the preferred due to limited support and
technical issues that may result.

REGARDING MICROSOFT PROGRAMS: Microsoft programs are not suitable for figure creation.
Please do not create your artwork within (or import your artwork into) Microsoft programs such as
Word, PowerPoint or Excel as this can result in low resolution, poor quality images and may result in
additional costs necessary to improve these to the optimum quality for printing. The native 1 st
generation files will always provide the best quality. Importing artwork from the native application
into Microsoft automatically makes that image a 2nd generation piece, decreasing the quality.
During the production process, the Microsoft embedded images will then need to be exported into a
graphics program for processing. By default, Microsoft exports these embedded files as low
resolution images.

After referring to the table above, please tell us what program you will be using to prepare your
artwork?
.tif

How many tables, figures, and equations will be included?

Number of Tables: 80
Number of Figures: 150 to 180
Number of Equations: 20

What do you feel is an appropriate price for your book?

$200-250

Readers in what specific countries will have an interest in your book, and why?
Global needs in Engineering discipline

Do you know of any bulk sale opportunities, through corporations or organizations for which
you have consulted that would be interested in your book?
Yes

Sales and Marketing:

Engineers from which specific disciplines will purchase your book? We will purchase targeted
mailing lists based on this information, so please be specific.
Robotics, Instrumentation and control engineering, Textile Engineering, EEE and ECE

8|Page
Please indicate with a (P) for Primary or an (S) for Secondary the societies and associations that
will have an interest in the book. Include as many cross disciplinary societies as possible as this
will be used to determine the number of mailing lists to purchase for your book.
