b.) Developmental Activities
i. Motivation:
 Ask the students how they organize their things in the cabinet. How they
arrange their things from planning to maintain the order in their cabinet.
Then, relate it to the lesson.
ii. Lesson Proper:
 Introduce the definition of Management.
 Discuss the three characteristics of management.
 Introduce the five basic management functions.
 Explain each function.
 Give some example of the basic management functions.
iii. Student’s Activity:
Divide the class into 5 groups. Each group is assigned to a
particular function. They have to follow the following instructions:
1. In your own words, define the basic management function
assigned to you.
2. Discuss and explain the function
3. Relate the basic management function on your day-to-day
activities
iv. Generalization:
 Management is the process of reaching organizational goals by
working with and through people and other organizational
resources. The organization and coordination of the activities of an
enterprise in accordance with certain policies and in achievement
of defined objectives. It has three characteristics and five basic
functions.
 v. Application:
 Companies maintain order and control in their organization
through the basic management function. This could also be applied
in the day-to-day activities of a student. From how they plan the
things they have to do for the day to how they continue to enjoy
their activities.
