General Instructions

In this task, our goal is to identify the participants and attributes of events. An event is
something that happens and changes the state of real-world entities, e.g., birth, marriage,
attack, etc. An argument, is an entity that is involved in an event, e.g., a person, a country, a
vehicle, etc. Also, attributes such as time and place of events are considered as an event
argument. An event might have multiple event arguments. Each argument takes a role in its
event. In an event mention, i.e., the sentence/paragraph that mentions the occurrence of the
event, all arguments might not be mentioned.

For every document, the word that evokes the event is provided. This word is called event
trigger. For each event trigger, its type is also given. Given the type of event, your task is to find
all participants and attributes of the event in the given text.

In this annotation we have the following rules:

● All participants (i.e., arguments) of an event should have a role in that event. All possible
roles for an event are provided in the ontology given by this guideline
● An argument is a real-world entity, time, or place of an event. Each role might be taken
by entities of specific types. The possible type of event arguments is provided in the
ontology given by this guideline.
● All mentions of an entity that is involved in an event should be annotated with the same
argument role.
● An entity might participate in multiple events. For each event, it will have only one
argument role.
● For an event mentions, it is possible that only a portion of its arguments are mentioned in
the text.
● Each role of an event might be taken by multiple entities
● Arguments might consist of multiple words.
