As mentioned in the case, the company Cirque du Soleil is facing a major talent management crisis. According to me they need to make changes in strategy regarding talent management. As the case mentioned that now they need 100 artists per year instead of 50 artists every 2 years, it is seen that their talent requirements have increased. With the increase in talent requirement they would need a different strategy to hire such a lot. Recommendations would be: Retaining the existing employees is challenging as the employees and artists have to travel a lot and after some years, they just want to settle down. So for retaining the employees they can create a long term strategy incorporating their vision and mission so that the employees stay with them. As other companies are also entering this market in different countries, the market can lead to saturation. Hence, it is very important to bring innovation to keep the market and business growing. To expand geographically to increase their reach, along with business. They already had an expansion plan by opening offices in 3 places which then didn’t work out. They can straighten out some of the flaws there and build better strategy. They can start different offices in different location which are independent of the headquarters in decision making. These will help in bringing the type of plays a cultural area likes and hence can attract more audience. They can attract to new audiences and can go to places which has high inflow of tourists. Here, they can have fixed location shows rather than a moving show. They can also diversify appealing to different sectors other than the upper class customers. They can add other products appealing to the lower end people by using lesser resources. Also, they can diversify into movies, theatres, music, etc. which will bring them a different set fo customers.
