Scan & Ship

Scan & Ship enables you to build a shipment to Amazon by scanning units using a barcode scanner, printing labels
immediately, and adding the units to a shipment with another quick scan. Scan & Ship is ideal for sellers who
manage medium to large quantities of labeled inventory through the standard shipment creation workflow, rather
than through Marketplace Web Services (MWS).

Important: If you have not created and shipped items via Scan & Ship since September 2013 you will only
be able to scan and print item labels with this tool. For shipment creation, please use the Shipment Creation
Workflow.

Scan & Ship advantages

Scan & Ship helps save time. Scan & Ship eliminates the need to search through an entire sheet of labels for
the correct one or click through pages in your Seller Account to find the products you want to ship.
Scan & Ship helps reduce errors. Scan & Ship may reduce labeling errors, which helps your shipments get
received faster at Amazon fulfillment centers.
Scan & Ship is configurable to your workflow. You can label all of your units at once and add them to the
shipment later, or you can label each unit and scan it into the shipment right away.

Equipment requirements
Scan & Ship runs inside a web browser (requires an Internet connection) but communicates directly with the
printer to print the labels immediately. There are three hardware and material requirements for Scan & Ship:

Single label printer

USB bar code scanner
Thermal label stock

Scan & Ship is compatible with most USB bar code scanners and most single-label printers that support a label
width between 50mm and 75mm and a label height between 25mm and 50mm.

Note: Scan & Ship requires an Internet connection at your workstation. Currently, we do not support
Internet Explorer or Firefox for Mac.

Accessing Scan & Ship

Scan & Ship can be accessed through your Seller Account under Manage FBA Shipments. Click Scan & Ship to
begin.
The Scan & Ship software does not need to be installed on your computer. However, the first time you use Scan &
Ship, you will need to configure your browser to use the tool. Instructions can be found on the Browser
configuration for Scan & Ship help page.
Make sure your printer is properly installed with the correct drivers and connected to your computer before
running the Scan & Ship workflow.

The Scan & Ship workflow

The Scan & Ship workflow is flexible to fit your needs: label all your units and scan them into a box later, or scan
each unit individually and add them to your box right away. When starting a new box be sure to print and affix the
box label; failure to do so may result in your shipments not being received properly. The standard Scan & Ship
workflow is provided below:

1. Scan the product barcode on the unit.

2. Select the product from the display list of valid products.
3. Print the product label.
4. Place the label on the unit.
5. Pick an existing Scan & Ship shipment or create a new Scan & Ship shipment.
6. Create a new box.
7. Scan and add units to the box.
8. When the box is full repeat steps 6 & 7 (as necessary).
9. When done with shipment, select a carrier and complete your shipment.

Note: You can only use Scan & Ship to edit shipments that were created using Scan & Ship. You cannot use
Scan & Ship to edit other shipments.
