Transformation (Week 4)
• Transformative Learning Defined
• “Transformative learning, as a theory, says that the
process of “perspective transformation” has three
dimensions: psychological (changes in understanding
of the self), convictional (revision of belief systems),
and behavioral (changes in lifestyle)” (Wikipedia).
• All three types of transformative learning can occur at
any point in life.
• Though, transformative learning is not guaranteed! As
educators/trainers/leaders your role is to assist learners
in becoming aware of how they react and internalize
the information you are presenting to them.
