Birthday prayer

Morning offering: Abba, our Father and mother, we thank you for the precious gift of life to every human being since
the beginning of creation till today. In your divine providence U have made us your collaborators and in preserving it
from the moment it’s conceived till it is transformed into life eternal. Grant us the grace to cherish human life, that
we shall always nurture and use it with gratitude and care at all time, in every place and to its full measure to give
greater glory to our creator. Amen.
Appreciating the fruits of life is first appreciating the tree that bears the fruit; that is Birth’ itself. Birth is the
beginning of our response to the call of our creator to be ‘ a gift’ to the world, and birthday is the day we leave the
sacred womb of our mother and get the 1 st touch of this ‘mother earth’ with all its richness and reality.
It’s the 1st day we give witness to the world ‘the perfect nature of God’ bringing life, hope and joy to many
persons by being completely ‘who we are’. It is a special day to be remembered, cherished and celebrated…..
And so today we celebrate the birthday of our dear Sr….., joining her in thanksgiving and prayer, raising our
hearts in gratitude and praise; and thanking god for the ‘wonderful gift’ that she have been to our religious family, to
our community and to each of us.
Loving Father, God of all life, we thank U for the many ways in which U have gifted Sr…., and we rejoice in
the many ways that she has shared those gifts with us…..
.accepting the events of life graciously
.performing her responsibility with joy, commitment and dedication
.giving her time, talents and energy generously
.encountering people with gentleness and care and
.celebrating her life in simplicity and love.
Dear Sr…. as U turn a new leaf of your life, we pray that may U continue to experience the benevolent
presence of God in the depths of your being. Giving yourself graciously to all the seasons of the coming years, may U
give greater glory to your creator.
On this special day, we also pray for your beloved father, brothers and sister, relatives and friends, that they
all may enjoy good health, peace and well- being. May your departed mother be admitted to a life of eternal peace
and joy in God’s kingdom.
B’day commemorates the particular day on which god said to us “ U, as an individual, are unique and
irreplaceable. No person alive, no person who has ever lived, and no person who shall ever live, can fulfill the specific
role in my creation I have entrusted to U…”
It’s His call and our response to express our uniqueness by playing our own role in our little space with the
same energy that God invested in us at our ‘ Birth’. We shall now join Sr. .in silence as she thanks and praise the Lord
for all that has been and all that is to come.

My God how great U are! My heart and my soul sing out your praises.
Chanting your name in gratitude today
I wander ‘ I’m me’ because of your grace.
My God how great U are!
U have carried me within your arms and held me close to your bosom,
Like in the womb of a tender mother to make me know that ‘ U are my home’.
Lord, bless the place where I was born and all those carried me along my path.
Lord, bless my Institute, my community and all of my sisters.
Lord, bless my father, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends; and grant my mother eternal bliss.
Lord, bless the many persons who have shown your face to me since the day U brought me to this cosmos.
Today, I choose to recollect the most meaningful moments in my life.
Today, I list those blessings I never found the time to be thankful for.
Today, I shall accept every good things that comes my way.
Today, I reflect the valuable lessons I have learnt in my life and the miracles that have touched me.
Today, I choose to celebrate my birth, remembering all the times most memorable and precious to my heart.
Today, I look into my yesterdays and praise God for granting them.
Today, I shall look into today and feel grateful for His presence freely given as mine to keep and cherish.
Today, I shall look forward to tomorrow trusting in the sureness of His love and grace.
Today, I will celebrate life for its beauty and goodness. Amen.

B’day is the day on which God ordained our unique place and purpose in this vast universe. It is His call and our
response to express our uniqueness by playing our own role in our little space according to His grand design. On this
gracious day, with immense joy, we praise God our creator, for the wonderful gift of our dear Sr….. to our Institute
family and to each of us. We thank Him for the beautiful personality that she has been endowed with – accepting
events of life graciously, performing her responsibilities joyfully, encountering people cordially, giving her time and
talents to those in need generously, and welcoming God’s presence prayerfully amidst her daily celebrations of life.
Dear Sr…, we thank U for being born on this earth, for being yourself and being among us. We really
appreciate your simplicity, humility, serenity, loving concern and dedicated service to the Cty, the province and to
the Institute.
As U continue for another year, we pray that may God’s mighty power and ceaseless blessing be with U. May
U continue to give yourself gracefully to reason of the present and give greater glory to your creator. We also pray
for your parents, brothers and sisters. May they enjoy peace, prosperity and well- being.
Ps I / As years increase and life advances, let us allow God to take over our lives that we may move forward with a
deeper faith and constant hope.

Dear sr…….. We are so glad you were born, because you brighten our life and fill it with joy. Yes this day is
memorable day a day to rejoice, a day to recount God’s gift to your parents who co-operated with God in giving life
to you. We your sisters rejoice with you on your birthday. We love and appreciate you for all the hard work you do
and for the gifts and talents that you generously contribute in community and in the apostolic field. We do admire
your prayerfulness, generosity, joyfulness and your charitable deeds. Your presence here in our midst means much
to us. May the years continue to be good to you. You’re not getting older. You’re getting better. May this year bring
with it all the success and fulfillment your heart desires. We wish you all the great things in life, and we hope that
this day will bring you an extra share of all that makes you happiest. May all the wishes and dreams you dream turn
to reality. May this day bring to you all things that make you smile. Your best years are still ahead of you. May each
and every passing year bring you wisdom, peace and cheer. You’ll be always being forever young.

How good it is to celebrate God’s presence and to sing His praises throughout each day!
Lord our hearts are bursting with praise….
We praise You for your revelation through signs and wonders.

Your power and your beauty is spread throughout the universe- but it is only upon the heart of human that You
imprinted your image.
A birthday is a beginning , a new year of life
with oneself, with others and with God. It is a chance to look back with thanks and to ask God’s guidance for the
future. It gives us an opportunity to acknowledge and give thanks to God as the author and giver of life the one who
knows us all as individual.
Yes dear Sr. Elsy as you sing a song of praise to God for your gift of life, we too as a community join you to thank the
Lord who endows His marvelous virtues and good qualities in your life. In special way we thank God for yoursisterly
love and concern, selfless-dedication, enthusiasm, activeness, approachable nature, above all your great love for
God. May the good Lord always keep you in His loving palm. May His spirit empower you with His enlightenment and
constant guidance in all the services you render. May you always enjoy the fullness of health.
We also thank God for your beloved parents, brothers and sisters and all with whom you share your life. We pray
that they too may enjoy the presence of God , His protection, prosperity and well –being, love and unity in their life.
