Q. Infosys historically had been a provider of offshore IT services to its clients. Assume that
they are moving from IT Solutions to IT Consultancy and preparing a strategic Human
Resource plan for the company.
Solution:
Value Proposition:
Starting with a strong value proposition, Infosys can set its consulting firm apart. To
differentiate their firm, many consultants use price, location, level of service, years of
experience, personality traits, testimonials, awards, guarantees, or a seven-step procedure.
However, these differentiators are easy to duplicate, and not all of them are important to your
customers. Hence, Infosys needs a clear vision of its future in consulting to attract clients as
well as competent professionals from other firms.
Infosys can start with clearly defining its offer to the clients, specifying whom it is going to
serve and what values it is going to deliver to them. All these can be done by good value
proposition and making sure it appears on various marketing channel including Infosys
website.
Diversity in Recruitment Policy:
 Experienced professional: People with good problem-solving skills, the ability to
work in a team, and the capacity to build solid relationships are in high demand in
consulting firms. To satisfy these needs, Infosys can recruit experienced consultants
from India and overseas who have extensive experience and knowledge in the
consulting field. These professionals can share their knowledge and skills with their
co-workers.

 People who believe in continuous learning: Continuous learning is the process of

constantly gaining new skills and knowledge. This can take numerous forms, ranging
from formal coursework to informal social learning. It necessitates initiative and the
willingness to take on new problems. Continuous learning can take place within a
company or on a personal level, such as in lifelong learning. Organizations must be
innovative, adaptable, and ever-changing to stay competitive in today's global
marketplace. This depends on the workforce's ability and knowledge. Employees are
required to learn new skill sets in order to adapt to the constantly changing
technological world, and because Infosys is developing so quickly, new hires are
expected to take on leadership roles immediately, necessitating an initial investment
in training and education. Therefore, Infosys must keep its focus on candidates who
are a firm believer of continuous learning.

 College Graduates/Freshers: Infosys hired people straight out of engineering

colleges. They may have to look for people with technical and software development
experience for the IT Implementation role, but they may have to look for candidates
with management experience for the IT Consultant role.

Case Interview Rounds:

A case interview is a type of job interview in which the candidate must assess and solve a
difficult business problem while communicating with the interviewer. The case study is
frequently based on a real-life problem that the interviewer has dealt with. All new hires must
complete a case study based on consulting and analytics.
Decentralize Decision Making:
Employees felt lack of motivation as there was no freedom to be creative in the company. By
making the decision-making process decentralized and giving freedom for technical and
creative skills of new joiners and employees, there could be more motivation among the
employees.
Remuneration policy:
The variable pay of 10% to 15% should be in aligned for betterment of Infoscions and
Infosys’ interest. This implies that if Infosys improved its performance over time, the
employee would be better rewarded, and similarly during downturn the pain would be
mutually shared.
Creating Fun and Community empathy at workplace:
Infosys HR should continue focusing on facilitating sense of fun in the workplace through
game night, debates or quizzes. Practices such as development centre at Infosys, Employee
social services group which helps local community should be continued. Participation should
be purely voluntary and may not only be monetary in nature, but employees can also devote
their after-work time to projects such as providing outreach to street children.
