Dear Ms. Becker,

I am writing this letter to apply for the Trainee Perfumer for the Givaudan Perfumery School.
Let me introduce myself first. My name is Uda and I am from Malaysia. I’m 35 years old, married
with no kids yet. My wife works as a dentist. I have a Bachelor of Science with Honours (Industrial
Chemistry) from the University Malaysia Sabah. I graduate in the year 2008.
I had worked as a manager in a retail shop in my hometown for several years. Before that, I work
as a maintenance landscape supervisor for 2 years. As for the work experience, I can ensure you
that I am capable to handle every task given and can manage every pressure that arises. I also
have mastered solving the problem without compromising the organization. Sometimes, what
we need is a human approach rather than objective thinking to tackle the problem. The 35 age
has taught me to be matured and wiser in every aspect.
In addition to my experience, I am also great with people. I can cooperate and work in a team.
As a manager before, I am not only excellent in managerial tasks but also leadership skills. I can
mix up well with others and with a high spirit of togetherness as I’m not a rigid person.
I am passionate to learn everything to be a great perfumer. And I believe Givaudan Perfumery
School is the place I can achieve that. All the challenges and obstacles during the four-year
training will be facing without a doubt. I will not quit and will not let you down. I give you my
word. I believe my little knowledge in chemistry during my bachelor’s study is an added
advantage for me.
I’m very persistent that a Perfumer is the life that I want. For me, being a Perfumer is not all about
money but being satisfied when able to craft something that people love. Please review my
