In this context, UNDP launched the Low Emission Capacity Building (LECB) programme in Egypt in August
2013, with kind contributions from the European Commission and governments of Germany and Australia.
The overall objective of the LECB programme is to build national capacity to assist countries in developing
Low Emissions Development Strategies (LEDS), identifying Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA),
and designing systems for Measuring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV). Twenty-five countries, including
Egypt, are participating in this programme. In addition to building technical and institutional capacities in the
public sector, the project in Egypt also includes a specific work component on engagement with the private
sector.
The Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) is partnering with UNDP on the implementation of the
project activities in Egypt. Accordingly the project is seeking to recruit a financial and administration officer
for the project.
Scope of Work:
Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place to maintain propriety and proper accountability
of expenditures;
Ensure the financial transactions are properly authorized, recorded, have adequate supporting
documentation, filled, maintained and can be easily extracted for the purpose of preparing financial
statements; and financial audits
Monitor budgets and expenditures and contribute to preparation of budget revision
Liaise with UNDP Finance Officer to ensure compatibility of the project financial books with CDRs.
Preparing and submitting timely and reliable UNDP financial documents and financial reports;
Prepare project financial reports, statement and submit to Project Manager for clearance and UNDP
as required;
