CONCLUSION

According to the research done by our group, we have come up with the conclusion given
below to summarise our take on 'My Green Meal' to improve eating habits to reduce
environmental hazards.

Carbon dioxide emissions are the primary driver of climate change. It’s widely recognised
that to avoid the worst impacts of climate change the world needs to urgently reduce
emissions.

Food production accounts for 68% of emissions, while food transportation accounts for
5%.These emissions consist mainly of CO2, N2O, and CH4.

Meat products have larger carbon footprints per calorie than grain or vegetable products.

People across the world are becoming increasingly concerned about climate change.

All around us, we see an increasing number of people taking to vegetarianism for reasons
such as inner peace, health concerns and their love for the environment.
The health conscious people are in agreement that a diet consisting of fresh, whole
ingredients with minimum processed food is superior for overall wellness. The whole-food,
plant-based diet is effective for improving overall health while being economical and
environment-friendly.

We have come up with the following methods to make our meals greener:

● Including more plant based food in our regular diets.

● Avoiding/consuming meat in small proportions.
● Avoiding processed food as these are expensive and unsustainable.
● Buying from eco-friendly markets.
● Eating more at home and from restaurants or take outs less often.
● Eating seasonal produce.
● And growing our own vegetable plants that are free of carbon footprint from shop
bought items.

Hence, if you want to reduce the carbon footprint of your diet, you can make a larger
difference by focusing on what you eat.
