Q.2 A statute is an edict of the legislature and constructing a statute is to seek the
"intention" of the maker. Discuss the term 'Interpretation'.

Q.3 When the material words are capable of bearing two or more constructions, the most
firmly established rule of construction of such words is the rule laid down in
Heydon's case. Explain the rule laid down in Heydon's case.

·Q.4 "To ascertain the literal meaning, first it is necessary-to ascertain the juxtaposition in

interpretation in the light of the above statement.
