A seagull was arrested by police today after it entered the local supermarket and started to consume
the produce on the fish counter. The large bird forced the store to close around midday and was swiftly
apprehended by police officers. It was subsequently released without charge.
A piano that was recently donated by its owners after they moved house, was found to contain over 500 gold coins
worth to the tune of £500,000. The treasure was found by a piano tuner, who will receive a large reward for finding it.
The treasure itself will be donated to the British Museum.
A homeless person who died this week left a will of a million dollars. Pensioner Annie Coldinger lived a simple life on the street
but none the less attracted regular donations from passers-by on their way to work in the city. In an ironic turn up for the
books, Annie collected this money in a hidden container, which was found according to instructions left in her old coat pocket.
In a strange turn of events, a photographer lost out this week after he was hired to take photos of a man proposing to his wife but
accidentally took photos of the wrong couple’s engagement.
A woman who found her husband’s wedding ring on a beach a year after he lost it, is said to be overjoyed. She is reported to
have casually looked down at the sand on her regular dog walk to see the ring shining back at her in a one-in-a-million find.
A couple who accidentally left their packed lunch on a table in an exhibition, returned later to find it had been showcased
by the exhibitors. They were said to be hungry but not too disappointed that their lunchtime sandwiches were thought to
be so artistic!
A beach has apparently washed up with the tide in Ireland this week, much to the joy of local residents. The beach
originally disappeared thirty years ago in a storm but returned a few days ago when a freak wave washed the sand back
ashore. Residents and holiday makers alike are hoping it at least sticks around for the summer.
You’ve heard of gun dogs and sniffer dogs, now meet the world’s first cat-detection dog to track down the lost pets of upset
owners. Molly the spaniel has a full-time job alongside her pet detective owner and is to date responsible for locating over 100
lost felines. That’s real job satisfaction!
