Class Info: Section Section 641, Wed 13:30-16:30 ( Suvarnabhumi Campus )

Description: This course is designed to introduce control theory that is relevant to the analysis
and design of computer-control systems. The analysis and design tools used in
practical discrete-time and sampled data control systems are to be studied.

Course Topics:
1. Introduction to Digital Control Systems
Control system terminology, computer-based control, control theory, an
overview of classical approach to analog controller design
2. Signal Processing in Digital Control
Basic digital control scheme, principles of signal conversion, basic discrete-
time signals, time-domain models for discrete-time systems, z-transform
technique, stability on the z-plane, sampling as impulse modulation,
sampled spectra and aliasing, filtering, principles of discretization
3. Models of Digital Control Devices and Systems
z-Domain description of sampled continuous-time plants, implementation
of digital controllers
4. Design of Digital Control Algorithms
z-Plane specifications of control system design, digital compensator design
using frequency response plots, digital compensator design using root locus
plots
