The school-to-work transition is more than just finishing school and looking just work. It
is broader than that: it begins with education and ends later in when young people are at work - a
process that takes years. In 2045 Indonesia is expected have that human resource productive,
innovative, creative, and affective, so that the 2013 curriculum is emphasized on the educational
process of giving more opportunities for students to develop abilities and targeted and optimal
interest, so that the Indonesian generation has an interest broad in life, readiness to work,
intelligence befitting talents and interests, and a sense of responsibility responsible for the
environment (General Directorate of Basic Education, 2014). In Indonesia, after graduating
from junior high school, students faced with several career choices, like going to Senior High
School (SMA) or Senior High Vocational School (SMK). Study in SMK is more contains
practical content, meanwhile SMA contains more charge theory. Since the 2013 curriculum came
into effect, specialization in high school is carried out from class ten and began to be a new
disciple get nine subjects principal plus four eyes specialization lessons. Besides, after
graduating from junior high school, both were choosing SMK or SMA must be done understand
the choice of study according to potential, talents, and interests. A phenomenon that actually
develops in among junior high school students are mostly students do not have a clear picture
regarding his future. Not infrequently on among junior high school students choose secondary
school certain because it complies with what people want old or peer influence, while students
themselves do not recognize it talent, interest or desire itself at the future. Most students choose
further studies that are not in accordance with their talents, interests, and desired job goals. This
is because students choose schools based only on their lack of self-understanding. This condition
will have an impact when they enter the university level or at work. Students will experience
feelings of pressure because they have to meet academic demands in fields that are actually less
suitable for themselves so that it has an impact on the emergence of a feeling of choosing the
wrong major which leads to dropouts. School is a forum that helps students by providing a
curriculum that bridges the needs of students' career development with the role of future jobs.
This kind of program it is essential to promote lifelong learning, a productive educational
environment, and a future of successful school-to-life transition. The development of science and
technology is very recent rapidly. This requires the humans in it to always adjust development of
science and technology so as not to be left behind. Wrong one form of adjustment is to learn
again, continue to learn, learning without stopping or in other words lifelong learning.
Knowledge needs to be added, updated, adapted to progress knowledge and technology. Higher
education provides opportunities for students to be able to develop science and technology.
Better education can also be achieved through Higher Education. Continuing to higher education
begins with a sense of interest and need to develop science. There is interest within the
individual will encourage someone to do something actions and participation in them. Likewise
with continuing studies to college, the interest of students continuing their studies to college will
be encouraging them to try to enter college becausethey want to develop knowledge and more
knowledge.

Education has a function to prepare as a human being intact, prepare the workforce, and
prepare good citizens as well social renewal agency. It can be concluded that education is to
shape human beings as a whole, forming a mature, faithful and pious person, independent,
knowledgeable and responsible. But it cannot be denied that different pathways of student
education have an effect on student development to hone skills in the world of work. We have
seen together that in this era, to get a job requires skill and nothing but the educational history of
people who are looking for work. So to overcome these various symptoms, various solutions are
needed in the development of education so that students can have sufficient abilities to enter the
world of work later. education is also an effort made consciously and planned so that students
can develop its potential for improve abilities and skills for the future. One example that
educational qualifications become a benchmark in the development of students to find work in
the future is that currently companies include a minimum educational qualification in the job
vacancies requirements, from this fact it certainly influences that education is certainly important
for the development of students in the future to go to work.

Indonesian education has lost its soul because it is more concerned with grades (exams or
assigntmen). Even though education is supposed to humanize humans. The educational model
that is mostly applied to schools in Indonesia rarely stimulates the Prefrontal Cortex brain area,
which is an area of the brain that works to analyze, think critically, and make important
decisions. Even though that is the most important thing to develop character and reasoning
abilities. So far, students have been more trained to memorize exam questions. Even though such
methods are no longer relevant in this era of disruption. In this time what is need is high order
thinking skills to form a generation of creators. Therefore, what is needed is a pleasant school
ecosystem. Because if the child is unhappy at school, the Prefrontal Cortex brain will not be able
to work optimally. As a result, children's reasoning becomes unemployed, becomes uncritical,
and so on. If the condition of our school is not happy, then the character education that the
government has been promoting is just a slogan. Then there is also an open education system, in
this system students are required to be able to compete with friends in creative and innovative
thinking, eventhough what the abilities of each student are different. actually exam scores are
important, but there is something more than that, namely how students continue after school.
What is the effect of student scores on their continuation after graduating from school. Because
values are important enough for students to continue to higher education, but what about students
who don't want to continue to tertiary institutions? Is it important that the value he gets from
school is influential as a provision for students to enter the world of work? I don't think so,
because in the world of work what is needed most importantly skills and passion. Hence, my
suggestion is that the implementers of educational activities emphasize their students to look for
potential in themselves and look for talents in different students, because that is the most
important point needed when they graduate from school and enter the community.

Secondary education is a crucial stage in the education system for the economic and
social development of a country. The knowledge, attitudes and skills of children gained from
secondary education are important for their future as productive and healthy citizens of their
countries. Today, many countries want a satisfying workforce equipped with competencies and
skills that cannot be obtained through basic education. Improvement to secondary education
must begin to be strengthened as a minimum provision for the life of the nation's young people in
this era of globalization. Secondary education is starting to become the main concern of
education policy makers and researchers in the world because it plays an important role in
improving health and community ties and spurring economic growth. Secondary education is
important in the education system because it is not only a bridge to continue to higher education,
but also connects the school system with the world of work. Vocational education such as SMK
has been developed, including in Indonesia. SMK is considered to play an important role in
reducing poverty and increasing the possibility of finding a decent job or increasing income
through entrepreneurship. In strengthening SMK, data needs to be collected and analyzed for
skills demand, job creation, investment climate, and job services related to the supply of skills
demanded by the market. A country cannot escape the entanglement of poverty without a rapid
expansion in the secondary education level. This secondary education is the minimum provision
to equip young people with knowledge and skills that can make them ready to live in global
competition (Irina Bokova, Director General of UNESCO). However, issues of appropriate
access and graduation are as important as the quality and relevance of secondary education. This
problem remains the main challenge in realizing secondary education for all. The issue of large
access to secondary education should be planned while ensuring its quality and relevance. If
secondary education is expanded and of high quality, problems such as social problems, gender
and ethnic inequality can be overcome. The study also shows that there is a close relationship
between the ratio of middle school participants and the prosperity of a nation. Anies Baswedan
said, due to advancing in basic education, especially SD, currently there is a gap in secondary
education. "From the school infrastructure there are already obstacles. The increase in the
number of junior high schools, let alone senior high schools, is not moving fast. Now is the time
for us to move quickly to make secondary and tertiary education more widely accessible, apart
from thinking about its quality. Every country must have the ambition and commitment to meet
these challenges. This is because increasing education is the main road to prosperity.
