What can you see

on the picture?
DRAWING
Drawing
Drawing is a way of making a picture.
Drawings are created by making lines on
a surface. Long lines make up the shapes
and small lines make the textures.
Drawings can be images of real life or
abstract images showing ideas cannot be
seen in the real world.
Drawing

A drawing is the art created this way. Examples

of things used to mark with are pencils, chalk,
charcoal, crayons, pastels, pen and ink.

Artists have been drawing for many centuries.

They draw on paper or on other surfaces which
the marks show up on.
Drawing Examples
When we draw we use
different kinds of lines
and colors to create a
wonderful piece of art
Let's talk about

LINES
What is Line?

A line is the path of one point moving. A line has length but
no width. A line is a type of geometric figure.
A line is made up of an endless number of points.
5 types of lines and
their meaning

Line
VERTICAL LINE

Vertical lines are straight up and

down lines that are moving in space
without any slant and are
perpendicular to horizontal lines. They
suggest height and strength because
they extend towards the sky and
seem unshakeable.
HORIZONTAL LINE

Horizontal lines are straight lines

parallel to the horizon that move
from left to right. They suggest
width, distance, calmness, and
stability.
DIAGONAL LINE

Diagonal lines are straight lines that

slant in any direction except
horizontal or vertical. When in use,
they suggest movement or lack of
stability.
ZIGZAG LINE

Zigzag lines are a series of diagonal

lines joined at ends. They can convey
action and excitement, as well as
restlessness and anxiety.
CURVED LINE

Curved lines are lines that bend and

change direction gradually. They can
be simply wavy or spiral. Such lines
convey the feelings of comfort and
ease, as well as sensual quality as
they remind us of the human body.
