LINE
• Line is a path of a point
moving through space. Lines
may be continous or broken
and can be any width or
texture.
TYPES OF LINE
• DIRECTION OF LINE
can dramatically alters an artwork.
Diagonal lines create movement an
energy. Horizontal line and vertical line
add stability and strength to an artwork.
•Countour Lines
contour lines from the outside
edge of a three-dimensional
shape and clearly defines the
area it occupies.
•Gesture lines
a lines that shows
movement, particularly of
characters in an artwork.
•Implied Lines
it is not made by physical
mark in an artwork, but
rather by visual suggestion.
•Expressive Lines
it shows feeling and
emotion
SHAPE

•A shape is an enclosed area


of space created through
lines or other elements of
the composition.
Types of shapes

• GEOMETRIC SHAPE
are precise areas that can be made
using ruler or compass. These shapes
can be simple or complex and
generally give an artwork a sense of
order.
• ORGANIC/FREE- FORM
SHAPES
are complex and imprecise.
They give works of art a natural
feeling.
FORM
• Form is always three-
dimensional. It is a combination
of two or more shapes, and it has
lenght, width and height and
encloses volume.
COLOR
• The visual property of the
pigment of an object that is
detected by the eye and produced
as a result of the way the object
reflects or emits light.
PROPERTIES OF COLOR
• HUE is the name of the color

• VALUE is a color’s lightness or darkness, which


altered when black or white is added.

• INTENSITY refers to the intensity of the color,


often measured by boldness or dullness.
TYPES OF COLOR

• PRIMARY COLOR
These are red, blue, and red. You
cannot mix any color to create primary
color. They are the base hues for all
other colors.
BLUE RED YELLOW
• COMPLEMENTARY COLORS
To find a pair of complementary colors,
simply draw a line from one of the color
wheel to the other. complementary colors
are called that because, when place side by
side, they are pleasing to the eye. they
create an appealing contrast.
ANALOGOUS COLORS
• to find a pair analogous colors,
simply choose two colors that are
touching on the color wheel. it
create harmony and unity in art
because they are made of the
hues.
WARM AND COOL COLORS
• warm colors are red, oranges and
yellow. They pop out towards viewer,
and create energy and excitement in
an artwork. while cool colors are
blue, green and violets recede fm
viewers eye and create a calming
effect.

VALUE
• Refers to the lightness and darkness of
colors and is often dscribed in varying
levels of contrast. White is the lightest and
black is the darkest. To create tint of a
color, the artist add white. To create a
shade, the artist add black.
TEXTURE

•It refers to the tactile

• It is a texture that the actual feeling of a
surface that can be touched. htink of the actual
feeling of a surface of a painting created with
impasto technique.

that are close due to the contrast between
light and dark being increasingly reducced

• In addition to space being way to show


depth, artist a use positive and negative
space as elements of art. Positive space is
the areas of the artwork filled with the
content and negative space is the space in
between.
