BLOCK DIAGRAM OF LTE NETWORK

ADVANTAGES OF 3G NETWORK

 High bandwidth
 Offers interoperability for its service providers
 Supports backwards compatibility for devices with existing networks
 Always-Online devices
 Multimedia services are made easier and accessible
 The network is more secure and reliable compared to previous networks
DISADVANTAGES OF 3G NETWORK

 The expenses for upgrading base stations would be costly

 Handsets utilizing this network requires more power
 Spectrum license and network deployment costs are expensive
 Companies that provide earlier networks will become obsolete

ADVANTAGES OF LTE NETWORK

 High data transfer rate

 Packet switching
 Low power consumption
 High upload and download speed
 It releases the network usage faster
 Less traffic in the service
DISADVANTAGES OF LTE NETWORK

 Costs for upgrading equipment takes a toll on service providers

 More towers and fresh technologies need to be developed for better signals while in
transit.
 LTE being complex needs only skilled people to manage the system.
 This technology cannot be used in old versions of smartphones.
 New devices that will support LTE functionality will be expensive.

Preferred network: LTE
Justification: Along with its upsides such as high upload and download speeds, notable data
transfer rates, and less loads on the network; I tend to favor LTE network because of its aim to
modify and simplify the existing network architecture that results to reduced latency. With this
in mind, it opens an avenue for our prevailing networks to be further improved and progress in
a certain way that will cater to the rapid development of technology.
