1.

The roles  HMIS to monitor program performance the Maternal Survival Intervention
include;
 Developing goals of reducing maternal mortality rate
 Supporting the evidence of packaging of health facility oriented interventions.
 Evaluating the intended targeted group
-HMIS indicators related to pregnancy care intervention are done in the following antenatal
visits;
 1 antenatal care attendance and the 4 antenatal care attendance
-HMIS indicators related to intra-partum care: -
 Ensure that deliveries are conducted by skilled attendance (at health facilities) -
 Ensures that deliveries are conducted by Health Extension Workers (HEW) ( at
home of Health Posts)
 Ensure that institutional cases of maternal morbidity and mortality occur due to
Obstructed labor
-HMIS indicators related to post-partum care:
 Ensure that 1 st postnatal care attendance the woman is well examined to find out
whether the uterus has involuted, any sighs of sepsis, puerperial psychosis or
anemia.
 Ensuring that institutional cases of maternal morbidity and mortality is due to
Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and Puerperal sepsis
- HMIS indicators related to inter-partum (between pregnancies) period
 Ensure that Family planning method education is offered (New and Repeat)
2.The role of HMIS to monitor program performance of child mortality and Child Survival
Intervention include
 Inventing ways of eradicating the top ten disease cause death to the child below 5
years.
 Addressing the more proximal determinants of child mortality and those that can be
delivered mainly through the health sector
 Recording the number of under immunized against measles
 Ensuring that wash rooms are available and well maintained to avoid unhygienic
related infections to under 5 years
 Ensuring that their is proper and efficient way of supplying clean water to prevent
water-borne related disease to under 5 years 
3.The roles of HMIS in stopping TB
 Initiating programs that may help in accessing high quality care of all TB patients
 Ensure that there is high quality of diagnosing TB patient and making sure that the
treatments are centered for all TB patients
 Establishing ways of eradicating TB.
