A life of a witness

Based on St. Augustine “De Doctrina Cristiana’ and ‘ De Catechezandis Rudibus’

A media and information literate could participate in developing a communication model where nor the
sender nor the ritual are essential but rather the message which is God’s Word. In this understanding,
the communicator is just the messenger or a channel through which God’s message flows to the
individual recipient or a group of recipients who in turn become ‘ messengers’ to each other about their
experience of God’s Word, the message. This model has quite some theological implications. It
recognized God as THE source of all communication. It calls for silence, and permanent listening and
the willingness to be a humble servant of a greater ‘message.’ The communicator is just a channel, an
instrument through which God works. The communicator does not determine the communication
process, like in linear systems. This also means that the way of communicating is determined more by
the experience of the Message than with the technical means. This way, a special ‘Christian
Communication Model’ based on Scripture and is concerned that the Message of God reaches people…
