Hello everyone my name is Luisa Espitia and welcome to this video about the meaning of dreams without a doubt a

question that we have all asked ourselves at some point in our life is:

WHAT DO DREAMS MEAN?

Dreams can have different meanings all over the world and many people even believe that dream interpretation is a real
and exact science, although in reality there is no evidence that they have any meaning, or that there can be a universal
interpretation.

I am going to tell you about one of the most wonderful cultures that existed was that of the Maya. It developed mainly
in Mexico, for this tribe settled at the time in the Yucatan Peninsula and almost all of Central America, dreams used to
be a state in which the body and spirit were separated so that the latter could travel through the world of dreams and
could do everything that was impossible for the body to do. For this reason, they thought it was a way to see with the
soul everything that was beyond the understanding of the body and the mind.

A tradition of the Mayan people is to ask in the morning if you dreamed, because it is important not only to remember
and analyze dreams, but also to cultivate them. Encouraging children to dream and recount their dreams is a way to
guide them to live in their totality. Nightmares may indicate a need to heal, cleanse and ward off some negative energy.

I will give you some examples of dreams and what they meant for the Mayas

 who dreams that someone sings in his house has an omen of death.
 who dreams that a beast devours him has an omen of death
 who dreams of an eclipse of the sun will go blind or fall into slavery
 who dreams that flies will die in war
 Whoever dreams that a snake falls on him will suffer paralysis.
 Whoever dreams that his house is on fire has an omen of death.

EGYPTIAN CULTURE
Another of the great and amazing civilizations is the Egyptian culture or Ancient Egyptian culture, developed in the valley
formed by the Nile River, located in the northeast corner of Africa. Many recognize them for their amazing pyramids and
their mysterious gods and pharaohs. The inhabitants of ancient Egypt were very attentive to human mysteries and the
occult of the mind. For this reason, it is not surprising that the world of dreams was an important aspect of their lives.

Egyptians thought that dreams were a sacred aspect of the human being. So their content was conceived as a divine
sign. In fact, every dream was understood as a message from their gods. Moreover, dreams for this civilization were so
important that there were temples to obtain the best dreams. These temples were quite popular and important for their
culture. They also thought that the messages they received in their dreams could prevent them from disasters and
obstacles.

The Egyptians divided dreams into three types. The first called pious dreams, in which their deities asked them to
perform certain acts of piety, such dreams were believed to be limited to pharaohs and high officers of the army.
Another important group of dreams, are the revelatory ones in which the personal deity of the dreamer transmitted
some important message to him. Finally, there were the dreams of informative character in which the best location of a
construction was transmitted, for example.

To interpret these dreams, there were interpreter clergymen who deciphered the messages veiled in the content of the
dream and represented through symbols.

some of the best known dreams are:

 there is the dream of someone who drinks beer and it is good, because it means happiness, or the opposite,
who drinks hot beer, whose meaning is suffering.
 Diving into the waters of a river in a dream would absolve you of evils and eating an egg will make you poor.
 If you are sawing wood in your dream, you will no longer have to deal with your enemies, for it means that they
will have passed away.
 if your teeth fall out, it means that there will be a death around you.
 if in your dream an acquaintance dies, it means that the life of that person will be extended, whether you or
someone else.
 dreaming of rain means hope and abundance

To counteract negative dreams, formulas were given to protect oneself from them in case they appeared on the way.
For good dreams, it was enough to enjoy them.
