ABSTRACT
Quantum computing is future computing that will bring revolution in the life of the computing world. With the
help of the Quantum computing world, computing has become millions of times faster than classical computing.
Quantum computing is not a reality, but all technology joints are trying to make this dream true. This research
reveals basic concepts of quantum computing, particularly from developers point of view. Moreover, Microsoft
Azure services in quantum computing glob will be examined.
I. Introduction
The current century flourished with innovative technologies such as cloud computing, Machine Learning, the
Internet of Things, 5G networks and Exascale computing. The purpose of each technology is to bring
advancement in human life. Among all technologies, quantum computing is the most recent development of the
computing world. Quantum computing is in its development phase, and so far, quantum computers do not exist
in the real world. Quantum computing is based on the quantum theory of physics. Quantum computers are the
next-generation computers and are expected to overlap the computing market. Classical computational speed
and power limitation are expected to reduce with the help of quantum computers. Theoretically, quantum
computers are a hundred million times faster in speed than classical computers[1]. Currently, quantum
computers exist only on paper in high technology laboratories of the world’s famous technology groups such as
Google, IBM and Microsoft.
There exist a tiny number of simulators or emulators for other peoples. Even the available emulator have their
limitations that are being tried to overcome[2]. Like other technology fields, microdot presents its role in the
effort of quantum computing to come into the actual world invention. Microsoft Azure Cloud proudly produces
over two hundred cloud services and products to make human life more accessible and efficient. Azure
quantum is one of the services mentioned above that plays its part in joint projects like NASA JPLA, KPMG and
others[3]. This research is a comprehensive effort to reveal quantum computing technology and the role of
Azure in the development of that technology. The rest of this paper consists of a brief introduction of quantum
computing, its services, and its role for the developer in section II. Section III consists of the Microsoft Azure
Quantum project.
Weather forecasting:
Weather forecasting in classical computing tools takes as much time as changing itself. Whether the forecasting
industry is striving for the fastest solution of the weather forecasting paradigm, Quantum computers leverage
their excessive fast speed to help the forecasting industry produce more efficient results about the weather
forecast.
Multiparadigm Languages:
Multiparadigm languages are domain-specific languages. Some common name of multi-paradigm languages is
Microsoft contribution to the development of the quantum world is most significant. Microsoft cloud Azure is
playing a more significant and valuable role in quantum hardware and software capabilities. This section will
reveal Azure Quantum contribution to the development of quantum computing.
Righetti computing is working with Microsoft to produce computing devices for Microsoft Azure Quantum. Its
first delivery is expected in the first quarter of 2022.
Furthermore, Microsoft Azure is focusing its cloud services on the future quantum computing market that is
expected to grow more than five billion by 2028. Cloud-based quantum computing demands that software
platforms be run on quantum computers as soon as quantum computers become a reality. Sensing this factor,
Microsoft Azure is fully prepared to provide cloud services for future quantum computers.
Along with Microsoft Azure cloud services, Azure is also helping with other projects such as KPMG and NASA
JPLA. The rest of this section presents Microsoft Azure contribution to these projects.
NASA JPLA:
Jet Propulsion Laboratory, A NASA project, coordinates with the Microsoft Azure team to optimize the solution
of communication window management issues for their Deep Space network. Leveraging the quantum computing
power of computation NASA JPLA is expected to perform their tasks in minutes that take even days.
V. Conclusion
Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm that promises to change the computing world. Several
technology joints contribute to quantum computing enhancement. Quantum computing technology can solve
computing problems very fast than classical computing. All tech joints are putting their effort to make this
dream true. As in the previous history, Microsoft Azure also provides an optimal solution for quantum
computing. This research focuses on Azure Computing, an emerging quantum computing ecosystem. This
research can perform the first milestone for new research in quantum computing.
