Butterflies undergo complete metamorphosis through four stages: egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa, and adult. In the egg stage, females lay eggs on host plants. Caterpillars hatch and grow rapidly by eating voraciously. When full-grown, the caterpillar forms a pupa or chrysalis and undergoes transformation, with cells from the larva developing into adult structures. The adult butterfly then emerges with wings, antennae, and other adult features, able to fly and reproduce by laying more eggs to continue the cycle.

For millions of years God has given us humanity great and
extravagant reason to see the beauty in his creations. God never
failed to amaze us on the beauty of his creations. For generations to generations, humanity has discovered numerous creatures that are genuinely astonishing. And no doubt butterflies are among them. Butterflies are known to most, if not to all I guess. Why butterflies are everywhere. And not like any other insect, butterflies are true source of beauty. For example these butterflies if you would see these examples of butterflies, no doubt they are genuinely beautiful. Butterflies are beautiful, flying insects with large scaly wings. Like all insects, they have six jointed legs, 3 body parts, a pair of antennae, compound eyes, and an exoskeleton. ... The butterfly's body is covered by tiny sensory hairs. The four wings and the six legs of the butterfly are attached to the thorax. The scales, which are arranged in colorful designs unique to each species, are what gives the butterfly its beauty
However in this day I will explain and elaborate on how
butterflies comes to life. First thing we need to acquire is the word metamorphosis. There are four stages in the metamorphosis of butterflies and moths: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. These four stages will enlighten us and will leave with a jaw dropping amazement regarding the life cycle of a butterfly. Because undoubtedly butterflies are honestly astounding so as their metamorphosis. At this juncture let us study and familiarize each stage. First stage the egg stage. Eggs are laid on plants particularly on leaves by the adult female butterfly. These plants will then become the food for the hatching caterpillars. Eggs can be laid from spring, summer or fall. This depends on the species of butterfly. Females lay a lot of eggs at once so that at least some of them survive. Butterfly eggs can be very small. They are nearly microscopic. This is the first among the four stage of a butterfly the egg stage. The second stage is the larva or the caterpillar stage. As what I have said The next stage is the larva. This is also called a caterpillar if take note there is the word if if the insect is a butterfly or a moth. The job of the caterpillar is to eat and eat and eat. As the caterpillar grows it splits its skin and sheds it about 4 or 5 times. Food eaten at this time is stored and used later as an adult. Caterpillars can grow 100 times their size during this stage. For example, a monarch butterfly egg is the size of a pinhead and the caterpillar that hatches from this tiny egg isn't much bigger. But it will grow up to 2 inches long in several weeks. The third stage is what we call the pupa or the transition satge. When the caterpillar is full grown and stops eating, when it has restore enough food it becomes a pupa. The pupa of butterflies is also called a chrysalis. Depending on the species, the pupa may suspended under a branch, hidden in leaves or buried underground. The pupa of many moths is protected inside a cocoon of silk. As you can see here in the presentation when it is done eating it will wrap itself in a cocoon silk. This stage can last from a few weeks, a month or even longer. Some species have a pupal stage that lasts for two years. It may look like nothing is going on but big changes are happening inside. Special cells that were present in the larva are now growing rapidly. They will become the legs, wings, eyes and other parts of the adult butterfly. Many of the original larva cells will provide energy for these growing adult cells. And the last stage is the butterfly stage or also known as the reproductive stage. The adult stage is what most people think of when they think of butterflies. But as I have discussed it is not. They look very different from the larva. The caterpillars has a few tiny eyes, stubby legs and very short antennae. The adults have long legs, long antennae, and compound eyes. They can also fly by using their large and colourful wings. The one thing they can't do is grow. That is the main reason why butterflies are considered as insectst that has complete metamorphosis. In our discussion the caterpillar's job was to eat. However the adult's job is to mate and lay eggs. Some species of adult butterflies get energy by feeding on nectar from flowers but many species don't feed at all. Flying comes in handy. The adult female can easily fly from place to place to find the right plant for its eggs. This is important because caterpillars can't travel far. Most adult butterflies live only one or two weeks, but some species hibernate during the winter and may live several months. Just like each of us, every butterfly is uniquely beautiful. They represent new beginnings, giving us hope for what the future has to bring. From across the globe butterflies are viewed as symbols of rebirth, representing change, hope, endurance and life! Butterflies is teaching us that yes we may be born tiny but we can grow. From what we are yesterday. Everyday is a time for improvement everyday is a time for growth. Just like the pupa stage of the butterfly there will be a point in our life where darkness will surround us. There will time where we need to be in silence in darkness and reflect to what we truly are so that when we have done that we can grow and reach high just like a butterfly does.
