G
WORKPLACE PROCEDURE
Workplace Procedure is a set of written instructions that identifies the health and
safety issues that may arise from the jobs and tasks that make up a system of work.
AN
The safe working procedure should identify:
 the teacher for the task or job and the students who will undertake the task
 the tasks that are to be undertaken that pose risks
 the equipment to be used in these tasks
 the control measures that have been formulated for these tasks
 any training or qualification needed to undertake the task

5 KEY SOFTWARE TESTING STEPS EVERY ENGINEER SHOULD PERFORM

There are some basic and essential software testing steps every software developer
should perform before showing someone else their work, whether it's for shift-left testing,
formal testing, ad hoc testing, code merging and integration, or just calling a colleague over
to take a quick look.

1. Basic functionality testing

2. Code review

AS
3. Static code analysis
4. Unit testing
5. Single-user performance testing

HOW TO WRITE EFFECTIVE SOFTWARE DEFECT REPORTS

G
Writing easily readable, detailed, and complete software defect reports is an
essential skill for quality assurance, developers, and support personnel. All software
development team members need to take their defect reports seriously, providing thorough
AN
research and detailed reporting to make the development job easier and more productive.
Those who write great defect reports will garner credibility and respect from their software
development peers.

THE DEFECT REPORT CHECKLIST

T
Your defect report checklist should include these four items:
1. Define the defect
• State the platform and version
BA

• Log in and examine data (client, patient, program selected)

• List any nonstandard configuration settings with values
• State the workflow direction through the application
2. Research to narrow down the root cause and get beyond the defect symptom
• Retest until you have the exact steps in the correct order to reproduce the
defect
• Define the who, what, where, when, and how you found the defect
O

• Execute database queries

• Scan error logs
• If the defect is intermittent, say so
SD

3. Add support documentation

• Screenshots, Video, Step recording files, Error log data, Database query
results
4. Format all text for readability and easy understanding
• Stick to a known and familiar format when possible
• List using bulleted or numbered lists
• Keep textual descriptions succinct and direct
• Facts only; no opinion, no suggestions, no accusations, no blame
5. Begin by asking yourself general questions, like:
• Have I answered the question?
• Does my work meet the assessment criteria I was given?
• Have I given evidence to support my ideas?
• Is my assignment structured correctly?

9
Republic of the Philippines
Department of Education
REGION IV-A CALABARZON
SCHOOLS DIVISION OF BATANGAS

• Have I edited my work enough?

• Is my work interesting?
6. Then, ask more specific questions, like:
• Are there any spelling mistakes?
• Does each sentence make sense?
• Is there anything I can do to improve my presentation?

AS
• Does every sentence and paragraph add to my argument?

SIX THINKING HATS

This method helps you to view your work from six different points of view. You ‘wear'
one hat at a time and think about your topic from that perspective.

G
It's important to focus on one perspective at a time and give it your full attention:
1. White hat = facts and information - Does your work make sense? Is your spelling, right?
Are your facts, right?
AN
2. Red hat = feelings - Do you feel anxious or concerned about your work? Why? Are you
happy with it? Is there anything you're proud of?
3. Black hat = Negatives - What's wrong with your work?
T
4. Yellow hat = Positives - What's good about your work?
5. Green hat = Creativity - Is there anything you could have done differently? Is your work
BA

interesting? Unique? Personal? Surprising?

6. Blue hat = Organization - Do the different parts of your assignment fit together as a
whole?
