“Kainan Ni Mang Peping”

(Restaurant Review)
As a Pangasinense , born and raised , I’ve had my fair share of
good and bad restaurants in my province. Food is important as it
brings us satisfaction and joy. Moreover , the careful selection of
which restaurant to eat at should always be practiced. In my own
experience , bad restaurants bring distaste as well as blaming each
other for choosing the restaurant. I choose one restaurant that I
surely be satisfied and enjoy your money’s worth of food.

Kainan ni Mang Peping is one of the best restaurants here in my

Province Pangasinan. This is probably by far my family’s go to
restaurant whenever were out in the City of Dagupan. It is located
along De Venencia Highway, which is an expansive highway that
is surrounded by groves and the Bonuan River. I was so intrigued
at this place as it was quite huge compared to most restaurants in
Dagupan plus there are a lot of bahay kubo style dining areas and a
statue of Moana and her Dad outside , there are also a lot of cars
parked outside so it must be something special.

The main feature of this restaurant is that each table is on a bahay

kubo. Some kubo’s are suspended on top of the clear waters of the
Bonuan Rivers. I don’t recommend dining on the bahay kubo at
night however as there are a lot of mosquitoes. You may dine on
their air-conditioned hall instead. While the price of eating
homemade food is cheap and worth it because not only is there
delicious food but also romantic and beautiful atmosphere.

As soon as you get out of your car you will see the beauty of the
atmosphere of the restaurant and when you enter it there will be a
variety of attractive plants that will meet you. The food here is
delicious and reasonably priced. There is a wide variety of food
options to choose from , most of which are part of the Traditional
Filipino Cuisine. Seafoods served at Mang Peping’s is also fresh ,
considering the market for seafood in the City. The price of their
appetizers is 199-299 Pesos , Sizzling Specials 169-239 Pesos ,
Seafoods 199-299 Pesos , Pork 519-539 Pesos , Beef 249-359
Pesos , Pansit 139-179 Pesos , Dessert 60-389 Pesos and more are
worth it and delicious.
Not only the delicious food is brought back by the customers here
but also the great dining area and good service of the employees to
their customers that they meet. They speak politely and
respectfully to the customers who eat at this restaurant.

Titanic
(Film Review)
I have watched the story about the big ship sinking titled “Titanic”. The
story Titanic is told by an old women by the name of Rose Dewitt

Bukater stating her recollection of when her young self sailed on the
Titanic and what event occurred during her stay. Her story was one
tragic love story where she survived to share her story. While sailing

aboard the Titanic on the upper class level , she met a man by the name
of Jack Dawson who was a poor man who’d won his ticket to sail the
Titanic by playing a lucky hand poker. They fell for each other fairly
quickly when Rose was threatening to jump of the Titanic because of
troubles in her life. Jack helped her of the ledge and saved her Rose was
already engage to Caledon Hockley who was a rich ignorant man. Jack
and Rose kept seeing each other on the boat even though Rose’s mother
disapproved and was a rich snob just like Rose’s fiance. One night while
they were having fun on the lower levels of the ship , the Titanic hit a
big iceberg they couldn’t avoid since it was much larger wider water
than it appeared to be on the surface. That is when the Titanic began to
sink fairly quickly. All women and children were ask to climb aboard
small boats and some less fortunate poor people were left locked
downstairs. Caledon hated Jack so much that he planted a very
expensive piece of jewelry in Jack’s pockets to make it look like he stole
it after he finished painting a picture of Rose and while she was getting
dressed. The security took him down in the lower levels and handcuffed
him and left him there. Rose want to look for him and set him free with
half the boat already sank. With a lot of struggle they finally managed to
get on the deck of the ship where Rose was forced by her fiance to get
on a small boat. Rose was staring at Jack while she was being lowered
and couldn’t bare the thought of being without him so she jumped off
the small boat on to the sinking Titanic. Caledon tried to kill them
because of his outrage that his fiance was inlove with another man
pushing the couple in the lower levels of the sinking ship. After the ship
sink , Rose was laying on a floating door while Jack was getting frozen
by the icy waters holding on to the floating door. Jack eventually died
from being was too cold moments before help arrived. When Rose got to
safety she saw Caledon looking for her and she hide from him. She had
lost her true love and never forgot him. For me this is the one of the best
love story that I already watched because they are willing to sacrifice
their self or life for their love ones.

“Anti Radiation Glass”

(Critique of an industrial design)

Antiradiation glasses work to deter certain lights from the eyes to avoid
damage. These have become increasingly popular lately as people who
work primarily on computers are trying to protect their eyes from
potential impairment.
What are the pros, cons, and alternatives to antiradiation glasses?
Antiradiation glasses protect users’ eyes from damaging lights that can
come from overexposure to screens.

Looking at computer screens can be very harmful to the health of our

eyes, luckily by wearing lenses that block these lights, you can more
effectively avoid headaches and reduced eyesight. They should primarily
be worn after the sun has gone down as blue light can affect sleep
patterns.

The use of antiradiation, or blue light blocking, glasses has increased

recently as people have been careful of protecting their eyes from
harmful blue lights.

As an affiliate, I may collect a share of sales or other compensation from

the links on this page.
There are some benefits to using the glasses, but before buying some
you should also be aware of the cons. In this article, we will cover the
pros and cons of blue light glasses and cover some alternatives.

Why Do You Need Antiradiation Glasses?

Antiradiation glasses are often referred to as blue light blocking glasses
because blue light is one that is very harsh on the eyes that is emitted
from screens. For those who work on computers or other screens for a
good majority of their day, it is common to see a decline in vision over
time requiring the use of prescription glasses.
Blue light is a tone of light that is visible to the human eye and ranges
from 380 nm to 500 nm. This accounts for about one-third of all visible
light and is termed as high energy visible (HEV) or blue light. This light
is everywhere as sunlight is the main source of it, in fact, blue light is
what makes the sky look blue to the human eye.

The majority of our exposure to this light is during the time we spend
outdoors but can also be from manmade sources. Most commonly, from
fluorescent and LED lighting. Another common way to receive blue
light is from flat-screen televisions, computer screens, smartphones, and
other digital devices. However, these emit a fraction of what the sun
emits.

Exposure to this HEV light can also increase the frequency of symptoms
such as headaches, sore eyes, fatigue, eye dryness, and fever. This is all
attributed to the light and frequencies that are emitted from technology.
This is where antiradiation glasses come in handy.

The Pros of Antiradiation Glasses

One reason these glasses are so popular is for working on screens at
nighttime. The lights that radiate out of televisions, computers, and cell
phones can trick the brain into thinking it is still daytime. In turn, the
body does not secrete melatonin which is a hormone that aids the body
in going to sleep.

By using blue-blocking glasses, you may see as high as a 58% increase

in nighttime melatonin levels when compared to not using any blue light
blocking glasses during nighttime screen exposure. This is a major
reason that people will get antiradiation glasses both with and without
their prescriptions added to the lenses.

If you spend hours in front of a screen every day, the use of these glasses
prevents eye strain and can aid in protecting the eyes years down the
line. Blue light damage can be cumulative and impact the eyes much
later on in your life. By utilizing blue light blocking glasses consistently,
you may be improving your eyesight for years to come.

The eye is very unsuccessful in blocking harmful blue light on its own,
so using glasses can block the light from passing through the cornea and
lens and reaching all the way into the retina. By decreasing exposure,
you decrease your chances of developing macular degeneration which
can lead to permanent vision loss.

Using blue light blocking glasses is going to be important for those who
have recently undergone cataract surgery.

Antiradiation Glasses and Mental Illness

In addition to protecting the health of the eyes, blue light glasses have
been successful in reducing mania symptoms in those with bipolar
disorder. For those who used glasses to block harsh lights between 6 pm
and 8 pm for a duration of seven days, relief in bipolar symptoms was
observed. This is in comparison to those who wore clear glasses.

This study saw that there were improvements starting just three nights
into wearing the glasses. This can be explained by looking at the
anatomy of the brain. There are receptors in our eyes that detect only
blue light, these receptors communicate with the hypothalamus and the
limbic system.

The hypothalamus controls the biological clock, while the limbic system
controls mood and emotion. Therefore, those tested saw an improvement
in insomnia as well as symptoms that are in line with a bipolar diagnosis
while wearing blue light blocking glasses.

Although antiradiation or blue light blocking glasses were purely

intended to protect the eyes from damage, there are many unintended
benefits that you may experience if you begin using the glasses in the
prescribed way. Additionally, just by being conscious and aware of the
amount of time you are exposing your eyes to harmful light, you can be
more mindful of your overall health.

Some Disadvantages of Antiradiation Glasses

Antiradiation GlassesSince these glasses work to block certain light
ranges, they slightly change the color of what you are seeing. You will
notice that everything will have a bit of a yellow tint when wearing your
antiradiation glasses. For some, this may cause difficulty in reading
screens, especially if you are working with a variety of color ranges.

This can especially be a disadvantage for those who work on highly

creative projects on their electronic devices. For artists or designers, you
may experience a differing view of colors that could impact your work
in the long run if you are consistently wearing your blue light glasses.
This is something to be aware of throughout your work.

This not only changes how colors are seen while wearing the glasses but
may also change users’ perception of colors. For those who wear blue
light blocking glasses all day every day, the altered coloration may
become a new normal. This would change the user’s perception of color
which could become permanent if more time is spent wearing the glasses
than not.

Those who have used blue light glasses for extended periods of time
have reported that they have increasing losses of scotopic vision. This is
vision under low light levels. This is likely because the eye is not used to
having to work hard in certain lights and therefore gets a little bit lazier
in low lighting.

You Do Need Some Blue Light

Additionally, it is important to remember that not all blue light is going
to be bad for the human body. For those who experience seasonal
affective disorder (SAD) often termed as seasonal depression, light
therapy is often used. The lights used emit bright white light which
contains a significant amount of HEV blue light. This boosts mood,
memory, alertness, and cognitive function.
Blue light also helps to regulate circadian rhythm because blue light
alerts the body that it is daytime, and the body should be awake. This is
why it is recommended to avoid excessive blue light at nighttime.

Therefore, it is not that using these glasses is harmful to the eyes but
rather that it is important to know when to use them in order to get the
best use out of them. If you are not using them at the right time of the
day or overusing them, you may see additional cons presenting
themselves due to your use of the blue light blocking glasses.

If you are using the glasses as recommended, you are likely to avoid all
of these cons and instead only see positive effects from protecting your
eyes from blue light exposure.

Are Antiradiation Glasses Safe?

Wearing antiradiation glasses is safe and recommended when used for
short durations of time. Under normal circumstances, blue light blocking
glasses should not be worn all day every day as this can alter the way
your eyes see color and trick your brain into thinking it is not daytime
when it is.

If you are using your glasses primarily when the sun is down when you
are exposing yourself to screens, these glasses can be majorly helpful in
protecting your eyes for years to come. This is ideal for your eye health
and will ensure your brain is awake and high functioning at the correct
times throughout the day.

In terms of your eye health, wearing blue light blocking glasses will not
have any direct negative impacts on your eyes. The film on the glasses
will not cause any damage to any part of the eye when in use. This
ensures that the glasses are safe to use and will not cause any long term
impairment to your vision.

Are Antiradiation Glasses Effective?

Antiradiation glasses are extremely effective in blocking out harmful
blue lights. By filtering out the light being reflected from either the sun
or electronics, the eye is not absorbing as much blue light. This is a
hugely effective way to protect the eyes from loss of sight or
degeneration.

If you are looking to invest in some blue light blocking glasses, make
sure you are getting the highest quality glasses to fit your needs. I
recommend the ones from Defendershield (check their website) as these
are highly effective.

A cheaper alternative is the Gamma-Ray Blue Light Blocking Computer

Glasses, which are available for purchase on Amazon.

For the complete list of recommended glasses based on what you are
hoping to wear the glasses for, visit this website. There are glasses in all
ranges of price, style, lens color, and are able to be used for a vast
variety of different activities whether you’re looking for glasses to wear
for gaming or as an alternative for your sunglasses.

However, if you are not interested in investing in glasses or do not like

the feeling of wearing glasses, there are alternatives to using glasses to
block blue lights.

Alternatives
One alternative to using antiradiation glasses is to instead use a filter on
your electronic devices. You can find filters for smartphones, tablets,
and computer screens that are applied directly to the screen and block
much of the blue light that is emitting from the device. This will not
affect the visibility of the screen display, which is a benefit that glasses
do not have.

These can be found in a tempered glass that can also be used as a screen
protector when used for portable devices. Many smartphones today also
have a blue light blocking setting that you can turn on automatically
when it is dark outside. By going into your lighting settings, you will see
night mode.

This will make your display a bit yellower and will automatically turn
on when the sun goes down and turn off when the sun comes up if that is
your preference. This is a great tool to use so you do not even need to
think about having to block the blue light manually every night and
avoids needing to use glasses or a screen filter.

Finally, the best alternative to avoid any symptoms is to avoid the use of
any screens after the sun has gone down and before the sun comes up
and limiting the time you are staring at a screen throughout the day.
Many do not have the ability to limit screen time as their work or
schooling depends on looking at a computer screen.

However, if you are able to cut back on the amount you are looking at a
screen during the night, you will be able to better regulate your brains’
secretion of melatonin and have a healthier sleep cycle while
maintaining good eye health. This will cut back on your need to buy any
screen covers or eyeglasses for your protection.

In terms of exposure to blue light during sun exposure, be sure you are
protecting your skin and eyes from UV rays. This can be done by
wearing sunscreen or clothing that covers the skin, and ensuring you are
not exposing your eyes to the rays of the sun without protection by
eyeglasses.

Final Thoughts
Protecting your eyes is important, regardless of the stage of your life you
are in. If you work or complete your school courses online, it is likely
you are spending the majority of your day looking at a screen. If you are
experiencing anything like:

Insomnia or unsettled sleeping patterns

Eye strain
Headaches
Fatigue
Any losses in vision
Then wearing blue blocking eyeglasses after the sun goes down could be
hugely beneficial for you. Not only will your symptoms likely decrease,
but you will also be able to increase your productivity during the day if
you are sleeping better and feeling overall healthier.

If wearing glasses does not feel comfortable for you, first try adjusting
your phone settings to block blue lights during the nighttime. You can
manage your settings so that your phone automatically adjusts when the
sun is down, or you can input times of the day you want the setting to
turn on and off.

This is not only a great starting place but will help you identify if
blocking some blue light is helpful for you. If it is, you may reconsider
and want to invest in some glasses. In the case that you do not use your
cell phone much at night but are on your computer while the sun is still
down, look into screen protectors that will regulate blue light.

However, if you use a screen protector be aware that you are likely
blocking all blue light regardless of the time of day it is, therefore you
will have less control than you would with wearing glasses or having an
automatic setting on your phone. If you are blocking blue lights all day it
may have negative impacts on your brain function.

Additionally, the purpose of this article is not to make you scared of

exposing your eyes to blue light, as there are numerous benefits. Safe
exposure to sunlight in small doses is great for mood, energy levels, and
boosting your alertness and brain function. The same goes for light
therapy practices which can be hugely beneficial for mood and
productivity.

If you completely remove HEV blue light rays from your day to day,
you may be causing other issues in exchange for protecting your eyes.
Instead, limit your blue light exposure once the sun goes down to try to
better regulate your mood, emotions, and sleep patterns.

“ English Language”
(Concept Paper)
The term “English” is derived from Anglisc, the speech of
the Angles—one of the three Germanic
tribes that invaded England during the fifth century. The
English language is the primary language
of several countries, including Australia, Canada, New
Zealand, the United Kingdom and many
of its former colonies, and the United States, and the second
language in a number of multilingual
countries, including India, Singapore, and the Philippines.
It’s an official language in several African countries as well,
such as Liberia, Nigeria, and South
Africa, but is spoken worldwide in more than 100. It’s
learned around the world by children in
school as a foreign language and often becomes a common
denominator between people of
different nationalities when they meet while traveling, doing
business, or in other contexts.

According to Christine Kenneally in her book “The First

Word,” “Today there are about 6,000
languages in the world, and half of the world’s population
speaks only 10 of them. English is the
single most dominant of these 10.1 British colonialism
initiated the spread of English across the
globe; it has been spoken nearly everywhere and has become
even more prevalent since World
War II, with the global reach of American power.”The
influence of the English language has also
spread globally through American pop culture, music,
movies, advertising, and TV shows.

“Spoken Worldwide”.A third of the world’s population

speaks English as a first or secondary
language, over 2 billion people.Tony Reilly noted an earlier
estimate in “English Changes Lives”
in Britain’s The Sunday Times, “There are now estimated to
be 1.5 billion English speakers
globally: 375 million who speak English as their first
language, 375 million as a second language
and 750 million who speak English as a foreign language.”

“ The elites of Egypt, Syria and Lebanon have dumped

French in favour of English. India has
reversed its former campaign against the language of its
colonial rulers, and millions of Indian
parents are now enrolling their children in English-language
schools—in recognition of the
importance of English for social mobility. Since 2005, India
has had the world’s largest English-
speaking population, with far many more people using the
language than before independence.
Rwanda, in a move dictated as much by regional economics
as post-genocide politics, has decreed a wholesale switch to
English as its medium of instruction. And China is about to
launch a
colossal programme to tackle one of the few remaining
obstacles to its breakneck economic
expansion: a paucity of English-speakers.

“English has official or special status in at least 75 countries

with a combined population of two
billion people. It is estimated that one out of four people
worldwide speak English with some
degree of competence.”
When English Was First Spoken
English derived from a Proto-Indo-European language
spoken by nomads wandering Europe
about 5,000 years ago. German also came from this language.
English is conventionally divided
into three major historical periods: Old English, Middle
English, and Modern English. Old English
was brought to the British Isles by Germanic peoples: the
Jutes, Saxons, and Angles, starting in
449. With the establishment of centers of learning in
Winchester, histories being written, and the
translation of important Latin texts into West Saxon’s dialect
in 800s, the dialect spoken there
became the official “Old English.” Adopted words came
from Scandinavian llanguages
Evolution of the English Language
In the Norman conquest in 1066, the Norman French dialect
(which was French with a Germanic
influence) arrived in Britain. The center of learning gradually
moved from Winchester to London,
so Old English no longer dominated. Norman French, spoken
by the aristocracy, and Old English,
spoken by the common people, intermingled over time to
become Middle English. By the 1200s,
about 10,000 French words had been incorporated into
English.3 Some words served as
replacements for the English words, and others coexisted
with slightly changed meanings.

Spellings changed as people with the Norman French

background wrote down the English words
as they sounded. Other changes include the loss of gender for
nouns, some word forms (called
inflections), the silent “e,” and the coalescing of a more
constrained word order. Chaucer wrote
in Middle English in the late 1300s. Latin (church, courts),
French, and English were widely used
in Britain at the time, though English still had many regional
dialects that caused some confusion.

Structural and grammatical changes happened as well.

Charles Barber points out in “The English
Language: A Historical Introduction”

“One of the major syntactic changes in the English language

since Anglo-Saxon times has been
the disappearance of the S[ubject]-O[bject]-V[erb] and
V[erb]-S[ubject]-O[bject] types of word order, and the
establishment of the S[ubject]-V[erb]-O[bject] type as
normal. The S-O-V type
disappeared in the early Middle Ages, and the V-S-O type
was rare after the middle of the
seventeenth century. V-S word-order does indeed still exist in
English as a less common variant,
as in ‘Down the road came a whole crowd of children,’ but
the full V-S-O type hardly occurs
today.” Usage of Modern English Many scholars consider the
early Modern English period to
have begun about 1500. During the Renaissance, English
incorporated many words from Latin
via French, from classical Latin (not just church Latin), and
Greek. The King James Bible (1611)
and works of William Shakespeare are considered in Modern
English.

A major evolution in the language, ending the “early”

subportion of the Modern English period,
was when the pronunciation of long vowels changed. It’s
called the Great Vowel Shift and is
considered to have happened from the 1400s through the
1750s or so. For example, a Middle
English long high vowel such as e eventually changed to a
Modern English long I, and a Middle
English long oo evolved into a Modern English ou sound.
Long mid- and low-vowels changed as
well, such as a long a evolving to a Modern English long e
and an ah sound changing to the long
a sound.

So to clarify, the term “Modern” English refers more to the

relative stasis of its pronunciation,
grammar, and spelling than it has anything to do with current
vocabulary or slang, which is always
changing.

Today , English is ever adopting new words from other

languages (350 languages, according to
David Crystal in "English as a Global Language"). About
three-quarters of its words come from
Greek and Latin, but, as Ammon Shea points out in "Bad
English: A History of Linguistic
Aggravation," "it is certainly not a Romance language, it is a
Germanic one. Evidence of this may
be found in the fact that it is quite easy to create a sentence
without words of Latin origin, but
pretty much impossible to make one that has no words from
Old English."

With so many sources behind its evolution, English is

malleable, with words also being invented
regularly as well. Robert Burchfield, in "The English
Language," calls the language "a fleet of
juggernaut trucks that goes on regardless. No form of
linguistic engineering and no amount of
linguistic legislation will prevent the myriads of change that
lie ahead."

Additions to the Dictionary after a certain amount of usage,

dictionary editors decide whether a
new word has enough staying power to add it to the
dictionary. Merriam-Webster notes that itseditors spend an
hour or two daily reading a cross-section of material looking
for new words, new
meanings to old words, new forms, new spellings, and the
like. The words are logged into a
database with their context for documentation and further
analysis.
Before being added to the dictionary, a new word or change
to an existing word must have a
considerable amount of use over time in a variety of types of
publications and/or media
(widespread use, not just in jargon). The Oxford English
Dictionary has a similar process for its
250 lexicographers and editors who are continually
researching and updating language
information.

Varieties of English just as the United States has regional

dialects and there are differences in
pronunciation and words in British and American English,
the language has local varieties around
the world: African-American Vernacular English, American,
British, Canadian, Caribbean,
Chicano, Chinese, Euro-English, Hinglish, Indian, Irish,
Nigerian, Nonstandard English, Pakistani,
Scottish, Singapore, Standard American, Standard British,
Standard English, and Zimbabwean.

English language is important because it is the language of

international communication. Although
English is not the most spoken language in the world , it is
the official language in 53 countries
and is spoken as a first language by around 400 million
people worldwide. But that’s not all , it
is also the most common second language in the world.

“Getting Vaccinated Or Not”

(Editorial)
What exactly should our people here in the Philippines do to
solve the extreme poverty caused by the pandemic?
According to those in charge of this pandemic, we need to
get vaccinated so that we have more protection against the
pandemic or better known as covid - 19 or variant. But how?
How to convince others if they are afraid of what might
happen to them after getting vaccinated. And according to the
news reporters, the president said that everyone should get
vaccinated so that the situation in our country does not
worsen and if everyone gets vaccinated, people will be able
to get out of their homes to visit. various places with
preservation and reopening of face to face classes for
students.

Vaccination holders say that the vaccine has a good effect on

a person because it will give more protection to each of us in
the so called pandemic that will one day be called the 3rd
variant. That's what those who handle vaccination say but
other people say that it will have a bad effect on a person and
they can turn into a zombie in a few years. Most do not
understand what or who they will follow. People's fears are
more prevalent today because of the alleged side effects of
the vaccine.

Not only the people of our country should be vaccinated but

also children aged 12 and above. The president asks that
everyone work together so that the situation in our country
does not worsen and so that the students can learn so that
they can achieve a better future not only the students have a
better future someday but also the citizen in our country.

Having a vaccine in our country has many postive and also

negative effects. The positive effect is that we can have some
protection to our body and we can prevent the virus from
spreading. But the negative effects is that we are not sure if
the vaccines will work because some people are from the trial
phase of the COVID 19 Vaccines they are having some
negative effects from their body many people are worried and
scared because of that issue.

The most common side effects following COVID-19

vaccines are fatigue, a fever, headaches, body aches, chills,
nausea, diarrhea, and pain at the site of injection, according
to the World Health Organization .

People who are refusing to get a COVID-19 vaccine are

increasing their risk of contracting and transmitting the virus.
They could also be potentially prolonging the pandemic,
contributing to spikes in cases and giving the virus more
opportunities to mutate .For me, I am willing to get
vaccinated if it is really effective and will not harm the health
of people, especially children. Many say that children are
being experimented with, looking at what effect the vaccine
will have on them. To me this is not right because they are
using the children’s desire to get out so they can try these
vaccines.

The COVID-19 vaccine will not affect fertility. The truth is

that the COVID-19 vaccine encourages the body to create
copies of the spike protein found on the coronavirus’s
surface.People who have gotten sick with COVID-19 may
still benefit from getting vaccinated. Due to the severe health
risks associated with COVID-19 and the fact that re-infection
with COVID-19 is possible, people may be advised to get a
COVID-19 vaccine even if they have been sick with COVID-
19 before. Studies found that the two initial vaccines are both
about 95% effective and reported no serious or life-
threatening side effects. The updated guidelines state that
fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing
a mask or physically distancing, except where required by
federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and
regulations, including local business and workplace
guidance.

“Is Fashion Really Important?”
(Argumentative Essay)
Fashion is a non-verbal way of communication that conveys
a lot about the person’s personality, background and style.
Earlier it was exclusively the world of the affluent, celebrities
and royalty. However fashion is now within the reach of the
common man, especially the youth. Beside, dress fashion is
an evolution of ideas, which begins as a fad, but in course of
time gets accepted in society as a style, which could be in
attire, behavior or lifestyle. Fashion is mostly associated with
glamour. It makes people feel confident and bold. People can
express themselves openly. Fashion is important because it
reflects the culture of a country. It makes our life colorful and
changes our life with time. In a way it also adds variety to
life, providing an opportunity in trying out something new.
Fashion is not only limited to clothing or makeup but in a
much broader sense includes accessories like shoes, perfume,
hairstyle, mannerism, etiquette and attitude towards life.
Fashion is not restricted to self-expression only but also a
means of self-empowerment and confidence. It encompasses
the total spectrum of human activity, which relates to a
specific period. It is an outlook of life.
Fashion is how you carry yourself in society without wearing
anything trendy. It is how you attempt to make yourself look
flawless even without any make-up. It helps you in revealing
your true identity. The world of fashion is always evolving.
It is amazing to see how the different events in history have
influenced and changed the way people dressed and looked
throughout time. Thus long dresses, veiled headgear that
were trends of the Victorian era, have been replaced with
micro and mini dresses and the jeans culture associated with
the modern era. From 1920s to 1990s fashion just not
changed in clothing but also in accessories, footwear and
hairstyles. The trends of wearing hats, carrying purses, shoes
and men wearing long ties and bows have been continuously
changing with period of time, occasions and culture.
Hairstyles also have been changing throughout time. Short
boyish haircuts were popular during the 1920s to 1940s.
Wigs were more popular in the 1960s and thereafter
hairstyles kept changing from short to bob cut then to mid
back cut and now maintaining long hair. As the fashion
evolved, the industry was formulated to manage the process
for the consumers. The fashion world has given shape to a
new industry, the ‘Fashion Industry’.The fashion industry
was created to design, manufacture and market clothes,
footwear and accessories. Prior to creating the apparel
industry, people made clothes for themselves. The mass
production of clothing began in the mid nineties when some
creators began to make garments that did not require any
fitting session with the tailors. Fashion industry in its true
sense was established in the twentieth century when the
neighborhood tailors decided to become the manufacturing
business. The positive side of fashion is it enhances your life.
It not only allows you to dress fashionably but also gives an
opportunity to be independent in thinking and maintaining
self-esteem. At the same time, fashion is impacting the youth
in a negative way. It has taken up the life of the youth so
much that the youngsters are highly obsessed with creating
style statements at an age where they need to focus on their
studies and other important aspects of life. The fashion trend
has become a cult with today’s generation. They blindly try
to imitate the models and celebrities without understanding
the true essence of fashion.
