 PRE 1 – Welcome class 1

WARM-UP : Let´s play Paper Toss to get to know each other. They should
throw a paper ball into a bin (throw a dice or a coin to decide who goes
first), if they get it right, they can fill in one of topics on their printable, if
they get it wrong, it´s the other´s turn. The first to fill in all the topics is the
winner. (They can fill in the chart with words or drawings).

PRESENTATION: Talk about your holidays, ask them about their Christmas
and vacation.

ART ACTIVITY: Draw something about their vacation.

STORY: Create a story based on kids drawings (mix the vacations)

GAME: Play “Touch true or false” outside, use the information given by the
students and ask personal questions. Glue a TRUE tag on a wall and a FALSE
tag on the opposite side wall. One by one ask questions about their
vacation, the other students must run to the answers they think is correct.

CLOSE-UP: Get to know your material. Ask them to pick up their bag. Talk
about each item.
* Student´s book: Open, show it´s colorful, tell they will have a review
every two units. Explain that they have an online version of it and that we
will use it in our classes.
* Workbook: Explain it is black and white and we usually use it to do some
exercises and homework.
* Notebook: Explain that when we´ll have a different activity, the teacher
will ask you to use it.
* Pencil case: Explain that they will be responsible for their pencil case and
inside they should have a pencil and an eraser.
* Student´s diary: Show they the diary and all the information inside, such
as where they should find their grades and classes´ information.
* Picture dictionary: Explain that we create our own dictionary to review
everything we learn in our book.
* CLIL book: Show students the “practice” book they have.

WARM-UP : Tell students that today´s class is to help them remember some
things they learned last year. Do they remember anything ?

GAME 1: Review the numbers, ask them if they remember numbers from 1
to 10 (you can write them on the board) and give them the printable in
which they have to complete the puzzle correctly.

GAME 2: Review some food itens and the structure I like/I don´t like. Later,
give them the printable and ask them to glue on the plate, only their
favorite food.

GAME 3: Review weather expressions and make the card below,

transforming the RAINY weather into SUNNY.

GAME 4: Review farm animals by asking, student by student to “clean” one

of the animals.
