Apples

Special instructions for the day: Snack and outside time have been moved up by

20 minutes. We will also not do small focus groups, so we have more time to go to
the orchard.

Manipulatives: Activity Description: Lay the tubes out on Bend and Extend Tubes

1. Apples grow on As we get to the orchard, I will ask the children

enough they get picked off the tree to be
eaten. I will than ask them if they have ever
picked an apple.

If we do not go to the orchard, for this activity I
will have a chart with pictures of the different
apples we will try in small focus. We will look at
the different shapes, sizes and colors of the
apples and then I will ask the children what
apples they think will be the sweetest, most
sour. I will mark their predictions on the chart.
3. There are I will hold an apple in my hands and tell the
different parts of children that there are different parts of an

Movement Dice There will be two dice for the children to roll. One of the dice Movement
will have different movements on it indicating what Dice (IWP)
movement we will do. The other dice has numbers indicating
how many times we will do the movement. The children will
take turns rolling the dice.
