HOLIDAY HOME WORK

CLASS II

FUN ACTIVITIES FOR SUMMER VACATION


During the summer vacation try and speak in English with everyone. Revise all the concepts
taught in school. Learn to tie your shoe laces, to button your shirts and dress smartly. Water
the plants and spend quality time with your family.
Note for Parents:
Holiday Homework is time for activity and fun. It is an opportunity to spend quality time
with your little ones. Do help them but encourage them to do the work themselves.
Originality, creativity and work done by the students themselves will be appreciated.

Note for Students:


The homework for all the subjects must be compiled in one single folder only. Separate the
homework of each subject with a plain sheet mentioning the subject on it. Use A4 coloured
sheets for the homework.

ENGLISH
1) Travelogue - Prepare a booklet using coloured paper, about any place you visit during
your past holidays. Cover the following points-

• Name of the place you visited.

• Where is that place?

• How did you travel?

• Who all went with you?

• What did you see there?

• Paste pictures and photographs.

2) Read and enjoy the following stories:

The Gingerbread Man

Hansel and Gretel

Red Riding hood

Rapunzel

Choose your favourite from amongst them and answer the following:

Illustrate and colour your favourite character in the story on an A-4 size pastel sheet.

3) Every evening, go for a walk on terrace or place available. Observe the people and
things around you .List any five people and things that catch your attention. Draw
them/paste their pictures and write two sentences about each of them on A-4 size sheets.

Be a reporter

Family holds a special place in our life. Now is the time to know them even better. So be a
live reporter! Interview 4 members of your family (grandparents and parents) and put the
information you collect on A4 size sheets. Use different sheets for different family
members. You can ask the following questions during the interview.

• Date of birth and the place where they were born.


• Their favourite colour.
• Their favourite movie.
• Their hobbies.
• Their favourite dish.

MATHS
1. Write and learn the tables from 2 to 10.

2. The tangram is made by cutting a square into seven pieces. The puzzle lies in using all the
seven pieces to make birds, houses, boats, people and geometrical shapes.
3. Using tangrams make shapes of any two animals of the size 8” x 11” using A4
coloured sheet. One example is given below.

Special Day Activity-

1. World Environment Day ( 5th june)

Click pictures while watering the plants in your garden, planting the herbs
like coriander , mint etc.

2. Show and Tell on Bee (20th May)

3. Father's Day ( 20th june)

Dress and enact like your father and record a video of 1 or 2 minutes.

4. International Yoga Day (21st june )

Let us celebrate a day by joining the live session of Yoga on this day. Link
will be given in class group for live Yoga. Send photos of doing yoga with
your family members.
