Questions: Do you have plants in your homes? – That’s nice!
What plants do you have in your homes? – Very good!
What do you do to take good care of your plants in your homes? – Well done!

III. WORK PERIOD 1


Motivation: We will watch a video then you will tell me what the video is all about. (ICT)
Teacher-Supervised: Nature Trip (Arts and Science)
Materials: bond paper, pencils
Procedure:
1. Teacher will set rules on going out.
2. Learners will have a trip around the school and identify/name familiar plants.
3. Learners will observe their leaves, trunk, branches, etc. using their senses.
4. After the trip, ask the learners to draw the plants that they saw.

Setting of Standards
What do you need to do to make your outputs presentable?
- Remove all unnecessary things on top of your table, be careful on using a scissor,
mind your own work.

Individual Activities: Flower Cut-Outs (Arts)


Materials: crayons, bond paper, scissors, paste
Procedure:
1. Teacher needs to prepare flower templates and distribute the flower template to the
learners.
2. Learners make pattern of dots using crayons on ¼ size bond paper.
3. Vary the size and colors of the dots.
4. Trace the flower template on the dot pattern.
5. Cut-out the flower and arrange them on a bond paper and paste.

Story: Si Emang Engkantada at ang Tatlong Harangan (Filipino)

Si Emang Engkantada at ang Tatlong Harangan


Ito si Emang Engkantada. Siya ay may pambihirang galling. Maganda ang kaniyang
bakuran. Maraming prutas at gulay.Maraming ibon at hayop. Malinis ang hangin at tubig. Ito
naman ang tatlong haragan. Si Pat Kalat ay hari ng basura. Kalat dito, tapon doon. Ito ang ugali
niya. Si Pol Putol ay kaaway ng mga halaman. Putol dito, bunot doon. Ito ang libangan niya.
Si Paz Waldas ay reyna ng aksaya. Aksaya sa tubig. Waldas sa koryente. Ito ang gawain niya.
‘Mga salbahe! Wala na kayong ginagawang mabuti! ´ Galit na galit ang mga tao sa
tatlong haragan. At hinabol ng mga tao ang tatlong haragan.
Nakarating ang tatlong haragan sa magandang bakuran ni Emang Engkantada. ‘Ang
sarap sirain, ´ sabi ni Pol. ‘Sige, sirain natin, ´ sabi ni Pat. ‘Sirain natin nang todo, ´ sabi ni Paz.
Dumating si Emang Engkantada. Binawalan niya ang tatlong haragan.
Tumawa lamang sila nang tumawa habang sinisira ang magandang bakuran. Nagalit si
Emang Engkantada. ‘Dapat kayong bigyan ng aral, ´sabi ni Emang Engkantada. May dumating
na malakas na hangin. Umikot ang malakas na hangin sa tatlong haragan. Nahilo ang tatlong
haragan.
Napunta si Pol sa isang lugar na puro buhagin. Walang halaman sa paligidat mainit ang
sikat ng araw. Ang lugar ay parang isang disyerto. Naghanap ng puno si Pol para sumilong.
‘Walang puno sa paligid. Ganito pala pag walang halaman, ´ sabi ni Pol. Nauhaw si Pol at
naghahanap ng tubig. ‘Walang tubig sa paligid. Ganito pala pag walang puno at tubig, ´ sabi ni
Pol. ‘Gusto ko ng puno. Gusto ko ng tubig. Maawa na kayo, ´ sabi ni Pol.
Napunta si Pat sa tambakan ng mga basura. Mabaho at madumi sa tambakan ng
mgabasura. Maraming ang langaw, ipis, at daga. Malalaki ang langaw, ipis, at daga. Hinabol
si Pat ng maraming langaw, ipis, atdaga. Takot na takot si Pat. 'Ganito pala pag masyadong
marumi,' sabi ni Pat. ''Ayokong kainin ng daga. Ayokong magkasakit. Iligtas ninyo ako,'' sabi
ni Pat.
Napunta si Paz sa isang madilim na siyudad. Puro usok sa siyudad. Payat na payat ang
mga tao. Naghahanap ng ilaw si Paz. Walang koryente. Naghahanap ng gripo si Paz. Walang
tubig. ‘Mamamatay ako sa usok at dilim. Mamamatay ako pag walang ilaw at tubig. Maawa
na kayo, ´ sabi ni Paz.
‘Hindi na po ako magkakalat, ´ sabi ni Pat. ‘Hindi na po ako maninira,´ sabi ni Pol.
‘Hindi na po ako mag-aaksaya,´ sabi ni Paz. ‘Maawa na po kayo, ´sabi ng tatlong haragan.
Naawa si Emang Engkantada sa tatlong haragan. ‘Kailangang matuto kayong maglinis.
Kailangang matuto kayong magtanim. Kailangang matuto kayong magtipid, ´Sabi ni Emang
Engkantada sa tatlong haragan.

VIII. WORK PERIOD II


Teacher-Supervised: Origami Flowers (Arts)
Materials: old glossy colored magazines or art paper, chart on how to make an origami
flower with illustrations
Procedure:
1. Give each learner a piece of art paper.
2. Read each step to the learners.
3. Do each step together. Assist the learners who have difficulty following instructions.
4. Talk about the parts of the plants to the learners.

Independent Activities: Parts of Plants Memory Game


Materials: memory game cards that have pictures of plant parts
Procedure:
1. Set the game cards lying face down on table or floor.
2. Each learner will have a turn to flip two cards.
3. Check if the cards show a match of a plant part. If it does, player keeps both cards and
goes on for another turn, until he/she opens cards that do not match.
4. If cards do not match, the learners turn will end and the next player takes his/her turn.
5. Game continues until all the cards are distributed to the players.

IX. INDOOR/ OUTDOOR ACTIVITY


The Falling Leaves (Math)
Procedure:
1. Let the learners form groups with five members each.
2. One learner will stand straight with both arms stretched sideward. S/He will be the
tree trunk. Two learners will hold on to the left arm of the tree and two learners will
hold on to the right arm.
3. A caller will say, “__ leaves are falling” (say a number from 1-10).
4. The corresponding number of leaves will run from one tree to another. The caller will
also run to a vacant tree. The learner without a tree will be the next caller.
