WIPRO (Western India Palm Refined Oils Limited)

Wipro is an Indian multinational conglomerate company


that owns diverse businesses globally. As of 2021, it
completed 75 years since incorporation. Wipro acquired
the 3rd position as the largest Indian IT services firm with
its net capital of 1.65 trillion.

Chairperson’s Message
Rishad A Premji, the chairman of Wipro, stresses working hard to scale the supply
chain and to build mechanisms for equitable distribution to aid in the efficient
administration of the vaccines for COVID-19. With the new delivery models like,
“work from anywhere” and “crowdsourcing” Wipro expects virtual, remote,
community-base, and distributed work models to be the future of work. Presently,
only less than 3% of Wipro’s global workforce works from the office.

Thierry Delaporte took over as the CEO and MD, taking Wipro to newer heights.
During COVID-19, WIPRO has supported more than 1,500 projects covering
humanitarian aid, integrated healthcare support, and livelihood regeneration.

Director’s Report

• On a consolidated basis, the company's net profits increased to Rs.108,680


million, by 11.22%. On a standalone basis, the company's net profits increased
to Rs.100,609 million, by 15.90%.
• The total dividend as per Dividend Distribution Policy is Rs.1/- per equity
share, as approved by the Board.
• The company bought back 23.75 crore equity shares (FV Rs.2/- each) at a price
of Rs.400/- per share which aggregated to Rs. 95,000 million (excluding
buyback tax), in January 2021.
• The reduced paid-up equity share capital (by Rs.475 Million) of the company
as of March 31, 2021 stood at Rs.10958 million consisting of 5,47,91,38,555
equity shares of Rs.2/- each.

Management Discussion and Analysis

• The growth of cloud, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, automation grew


in 2020 due to Remote working conditions and the IT industry is moving
towards hybrid working models with implications on hiring, team structures,
compliance and cybersecurity.
• It is expected that with exploring digitization, technologies like 5G, AI/
Intelligent Enterprise, blockchain and robotics will grow exponentially in the
coming years.
• They provide IT products and provide services as a complement to IT products.
Their ISRE segment offers services to Government organisations.
• Vision: To be a trusted partner to clients and deliver values.
• They aim to accelerate growth with priority markets being Europe, America
and APMEA. They are also building a growth plan for Europe, Asia and
Middle East
• They aim to scale partnerships with alliances such as Amazon, Microsoft, SAP,
IBM, Google Cloud.
• They have two GBLs : iDEAS and iCORE.

Highlights

• Wipro restructured its business by introducing the new simpler operating model
in Jan 2021.
• Wipro replaced the current structure of seven industry verticals , service lines
