Well Behaved Baby Jacket

The sweater is knit top-down, seamlessly.
Start by casting on for the collar, work
raglan increases, then the body and finally
the sleeves. The yarn used is aran weight.
It’s important to check your gauge.
Size: 3 months
Gauge: 17 stitches measures 4 inches (10
cm) in stockinette stitch (knit on the right
side, purl on the wrong side).
MATERIAL
Cisne Cetim - color 881 – 2 skeins
1 US #6/4mm circular needle, 32 inches (80
cm) longer
1 set US #6/4mm double-point needles
Four stitch markers
Waste yarn (to put sleeve stitches on hold)
1 tapestry needle
6 buttons, 5/8 inches (16 mm)

COLLAR
Cast on 34 stitches and work 20 rows in
garter stitch (knit every row).
At end of last row, don’t turn work. Break
yarn leaving 6 inches (15 cm) tail. Collar
stitches sit on the needle tip of your right
hand. Use this tip to cast on 15 stitches at
each side of the collar, following these
instructions:
1. Cast on 15 stitches, cut yarn leaving
6 inches (15 cm) tail, pass all 15
stitches to the other tip of the
circular needle.
2. Cast on 15 stitches, turn work, knit
15 stitches you’ve just cast on, knit
across 34 collar stitches and knit 15
stitches you’ve cast on step 1.
There are 64 stitches on circular needle.
YOKE
Work a knit row then a purl row.
Now place markers: k17, place marker, k6,
place marker, k18, place marker, k6, place
marker, k17 (RS)
Wrong side rows: k2, purl to last two
stitches, k2
Raglan increase row (RS): [knit until next
marker, m1, slip marker, k1, m1] three
times, knit to end of row.
Repeat Raglan increase row and Wrong side
row until it’s time to work Buttonhole row,
which are worked on row seven, fifteen and
twenty three, counted from last purl row,
with RS facing.
Buttonhole row: k3, k2tog, YO, k3, k2tog,
YO, [knit until next marker, m1, slip marker,
k1, m1] three times, knit till the end of row.

SLEEVES
Transfer held sleeve stitches to double
pointed needles. Rejoin yarn to center of
underarm stitches. Beginning at the 3th cast
on underarm stitch, pick up and knit 3
stitches, knit 27 sleeve stitches, pick up and
knit 2 stitches in remaining underarm
stitches. 32 stitches total.
Join for working in the round, and place
marker to mark beginning of round. Knit
around until the sleeve measures 4 ½ inches
(11 cm).

Hem
Round 1: knit all stitches
Round 2: purl all stitches
Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 six times, then knit
Round 1 once more and bind off in purl.
