MINI CONCEPT PAPER

Promoting Gender Equality

Cindy Maraña

(1) Are you one of the ten people suffering from cyber bullying, stressed and depression
because of your gender roles? Did you experience receiving unfair treatment because of
your sexual identity? How about experiencing discrimination in terms of using the public
comfort room? Did someone notice and ask you why your clothes and the way you
dressed up are differ from your sexual identity? People always thought that this kind of
situation are similar and easy to cope up especially now that we are in the 21 st century
wherein social media exists and netizens always have their different opinions regarding
with the gender roles but a lot of individuals are suffering ultimate depression because of
their differences to others.

(2) If you are one of the victims of this kind of discrimination that is called Gender
Inequality which means the unfair treatment of ones sexual identity and the way they do
their actions and the way they dressed up. This is one of the societal problems we face
everyday because people are always giving their opinion when it comes in Gender
Inequality even it is very non sense. At my age of 18, I can say that I am one of the
witness with those people who suffer from this kind of discrimination including my
friends experience cyber bullying because of their sexual identity and a member of he
LGBTQ+. I know that this is a very sensitive topic but their main goals is to give
confidence to their member. The toxic mindset of people in our society is they always
have a non sense comments with other people’s lives , they always say that “if you are a
gay, you are weak, you are destruction, you are trash of economy”. “if you are a lesbian ,
you are not part of society, “if you are indifferent, then you aren’t belong”. We are all
human and let’s just be fair and show some respect.

(3) According to the Department of Health(DOH) in the psychological team 7 out of 10

individuals are suffering from stressed and depression because of experiencing cyber and
physical discrimination against their gender roles and the way they dresses up and do
their actions. We are all in democratic type of country and we are allowed to expressed
ourselves the way we want to be and we need to respect and treat all the people fair with
dignity and impartiality. And all the people was obligated to respect each other whether it
is a girl, a boy, gay, lesbian, bisexual, asexual and anyone.
(4) As a Grade 12 student in Senior High School taking the strand of HUMSS
(Humanities and Social Sciences) and our major subject is to engage in community and
be a certified humanista, all I can do to have the solution regarding with the victims of
gender inequality is to promote GENDER EQUALITY. It tells about being fair to ones
identity and this advocacy is already on the law worldwide and all we gonna do is to
continue promoting this.

(5) The Department of Health (DOH) was willing to help for those who suffering from
depression and they have the free symposium so that all the teenagers are aware
regarding with the law about gender equality.

(6) The Government build a comfortable comfort room for gays, lesbians and bisexuals
so that it is easy for them to use the utility area.

(7) Since we are all now suffering the Covid-19 pandemic, the only solution for this is to
use social media in a good way in that case you can spread the anti-gender discrimination
and individuals who are using internet and social media are aware in that advocacy. The
Objective of this advocacy regarding with the gender equality is to give everyone an
equal treatment not only for social growth situations but also within the law and those
who will commit bullying and discriminating will have the punishment regarding with
the Republic act for Gender quality. The Republic Act 9710 tells asserting the equality of
men, women or gay or even bisexuals and asexual. It tells about the equal treatment
throughout a society regarding with the indifferences of each other and tells to create
equality in law and social situations.

(8) In our town, we do not tolerate this kind of situation and discrimination hence the
municipal officials create a program and contests when celebrating festivals for the
LGBTQ+ and for men and women. If you want other people to respect you, then you
should show respect to them .If you want to accept by society then learn to accept other
people’s differences.

(9) As far as I was grown, I keep reminiscing the community where I belong and just
like me all we need is to show respect to everybody and to feel them that they are worthy.
Showing far treatment is like showing that you respect every individuals with differences
in terms of their sexual identity.
(10) Lastly, we are all human being and we need to learn that acceptance is a must
especially now that we are in the world of technology wherein one click may hurt other’s
feeling and security. So the only we can do is to keep promoting the GENDER
EQUALITY and through using social media let us all spread positivity and peace. We
don’t care what others want to wear, we have our own , and don’t mind what they want to
do unless it is not bad for them , the only we can say is to notice their actions in a good
way. There’s nothing wrong with being indifferent, the only mistakes we commit is that
we don’t simply accept the fact that we have our differences. We should treat all the
people with dignity and respect. Empowering each others belief and actions to
themselves.
MINI CONCEPT PAPER No. 3

Words to the Intellectuals

(Cultural Revolution in Cuba)

(1) How did you encounter Revolution in your society? In what aspects of your life do
you consider having revolution and the changes within the society? How does the culture
systems affect your daily life? Revolution is the forcible overthrow of the government in
favor of a new system and Marxism says that it is the dramatic and wide-reaching
change.

(2) In Social Sciences, the Marxism describe the revolution in the class struggle expected
to lead to political change and the triumph of communism and sub-ordinate to Marxist
Theory and it was practice to have the cultural identity, values, traditions, history and
national spirit of people. In terms of cultural revolution, it allows the social system to
have the tendency to change and standing up the symbolism.

(3) In the case of Cuba, the Cuban Cultural Revolution is outlined neatly by the great
novelist Gabriel Marquez and create an article entitled “Our Cuban Brand of Socialism”,
which means the changes happen inside the Cuba that charted its own path. The Cultural
revolution in Cuba was happen in the midst of 1952 to 1962, it says that having a
revolution is to give the equal rights to all the citizens in Cuba in terms of health, work,
food, security especially the culture and education. The Cuban Revolution was the
overthrow of Fulgencio Batista’s regime by the 26 th of July Movement and the
establishment of a new Cuban government led by Fidel Castro in 1959. To any country,
Education is a topic of great interest and priority as it is impossible to think about the
development of the citizens and to gain knowledge to be used in the future the nation
need, economic and social development requires. Education is really significant to the
society because it is an ideological weapon that allows individuals to understand the
problems that society must face in its historical moment and through education every
nation develop its citizens the values and ideals.

(4) The Government lead by Fidel Castro was being changed into the new Cuba systems
that’s depicts new culture and new system of Education wherein it implies new
opportunities and new condition of the country of Cuba.
(5) The People in Cuba believed that education is one of its key pillars, as well as a vital
commitment of the State to its Society. And this percept is fulfilled because there is close
coordination between the policies and strategies implemented by the country to ensure
the educational development and the economic and social progress it requires and the
cultural revolution has nothing to do with the educational system in Cuba. This is favored
by a strong engagement of society at large and the awareness of education is a task in
which everyone have the responsibility to participate.

(6) Even there is a cultural revolution, the education system in Cuba does not affected
and the government policies ensure the continuity of development of Education so that it
become the imperative of the present time and the safety of its future in the preparations
in the new generations and to give full efforts to pursue the continuous improvement of
education with a view fully objectives that leads to the implementation of major
transformations.

(7) To deduce the educational implications, Cuban education is a free of change in the
entire system and the state has the responsibility of ensuring teachers, the educational
facilities and means necessary for their full development. In terms of social implications,
the government and the people inside the society of Cuba are now ready and prepared for
any changes and they do anything so that the cultural revolution might not affect their
daily life.

(8) Cuban Culture has undergone a major transformation since the revolution and the
government has come to play a leading role in it. In general, Cuba is a country short of
everything and they believed that the economic and social changes that characterizes
today’s world and it has a direct impact on the mission and roles to be fulfilled by
education, where only the strength of the people’s and the political of the leaders will
enable its realization. The scene was set for Fidel Castro to select the education as a
major issue for his revolution, he had mentioned plans to raise teachers salaries and
improve rural schools briefly in the manifesto of his revolution. Under this revolution ,
education became universal but Fidel Castro stipulated that anyone who received this
education would have to actively promote the government policies both during and after
the revolution. Increasingly, Cuban Education was geared around the needs of the state.
Cuba became officially socialist, children followed the Marxist of combining work and
study. The government assigned them working in agriculture and the enginerring and
technical education took priority over the arts.
(9) Therefore, the full, universal and comprehensive realization of the cultural revolution
is to change the old into the new system and the right to education ensures that every
Cuban now they are fully aware of all their rights and the legal and the institutional
mechanisms. We value modestly but it is also a great pride and the improvements reflect
the collectiive effort of the people and the political will of its leadership to achieve it. The
Revolution is now a history for the next generations and give Cuba a high economic and
social cost for people and have a big impact on education and the social systems.

(10) As a student it is better for us to understand what is the importance of having the
revolution, not only to know the bad sides but to understand as well that revolution can
be a great pride and a history to change and give opportunities to those who doesn’t
receive yet. The Cuban Cultural Revolution make us realize that we need to change in
order to grow, and in society we need to change I order to achieve progress.
