Last week, we started reading about free time activities. Do you remember? The text we read talked
about hobbies. Some of them were dangerous and others were safe, such as collecting stuffs.
Now, let’s going to go backwards and remember the time when we learnt about them.
Try to remember as much words related to hobbies as you can. To practice and remember these
words we are going to use Kahoot.
Exercise:
Now that we remembered the vocabulary, let’s going to practice:
Do you remember the collocations? A collocation is two or more words that often go together.
These combinations are used because they just sound ‘right’ to native English speakers.
1. Read and match the verbs from the box with the phrases.
Hello, I am Tina and I’m 12 years old. I would like to tell you about my strange family, why are
we strange? Because we all love collecting things!
First of all, there is my father Tom Brown, he is 45 and he collects stamps he started when
he was a small boy and now, he has 864 stamps.
Then there is my mum Cathy Brown, she is 39 and she collects teapots, she has 36 teapots
now.
She puts them on special shelves in our kitchen and she is always dusting them.
Next, I have an older brother, Joe. He is 20 and he collects football cards, he says he has
783. He always buys new cards or swopping with his friends.
My younger sister is 11, Mary collects erasers. She has 43 but she doesn’t use any of them
for school. She says they are special.
And finally, what do I collect? I collect seashells, every time I go to the beach, I look for
pretty or unusual shapes.
I have 91 shells in my box, but I have 15 of my prettiest one on a plate on my desk. My mum
says that we will soon need a bigger house if we don’t stop collecting. I don’t think we will stop
as it’s so much fun.
II. Once you have read the text answer. Circle the correct answer.
Awesome! Now that we have practiced, let’s try to think about YOUR family.
Think about your parents, your brothers and sisters if you have them. Maybe about your aunts
and uncles, grandparents and cousins.
Once you have done that, write sentences about the collections they might have. Use Tina’s
story as example.
Do it Simple.

Remember:
Watch Netflix… but do it with the audio in English, and the captions in Spanish.
Listen to music… but not reggaeton. Listen to the cool music we listened in class in ENGLISH.
And of course, H A V E F U N!
