In order to promote deep approach in learning , educators can consider engaging students in active

learning experiences. In a Science lesson instead of just listening and receiving information from the
educator, educators can expose students to hands-on learning and experiential approach that can
enhance their learning . Educators may choose a topic to be taught to the students and along the way
of teaching, students learn through experiments. Experiments can be used to introduce new concepts
or to clarify ambiguous elements of topics that students often struggle with. Experiments allow pupils
to learn about themselves and put their knowledge to the test. This method helps students remember
topics by allowing them to apply what they've learned in a controlled setting. In this approach ,
students are in charge of their learning and educators act as a facilitator .According to Kolb & Kolb
(2005), experiential learning is a process that draws out students' thoughts about a topic and allows
them to integrate fresh experiences with previously learned notions. Learners develop knowledge
through their experiences, reflections, and critical thinking. Participants' experiences serve as the
foundation for them to ponder and think, and these thoughts provide new meanings that help them
learn more effectively.

Collaborative learning is another way that educators can use to promote deep approach in learning.
Collaborative learning occurs when a number of students get together to accomplish an assigned
activity, discuss a topic or finish a task. Students working together will be able to teach each other by
addressing misunderstandings and clearing misconceptions, based on the principle that two or three
heads are better than one. The intended consequences of completing assignments in a group assist
students in learning the complexity of problem solving while also promoting deeper learning by
action. Working collaboratively in a group does not only help students to learn the subject content
better but also provides opportunities to develop other additional skills which are useful in
collaborative workspaces and future careers. Students learn to think critically, compromise, and
acquire a skill set that is necessary for success both inside and outside of the classroom when they
collaborate.
