About us
Who are we?
The Ethiopian Management Institute (EMI) is a public enterprise that has been
operating in Ethiopia as a service provider since 1956. It is the leading man-
agement development service provider in the country. In the past 60+ years,
EMI has tremendously contributed in enhancing the managerial capacity of
organizations in the country by rendering management development services
(training, consultancy and research).
EMI has also contributed its share in the implementation of the Civil Service Re-
form Program. So far, we have reached a wider range of organizations through-
out the country. We have developed a 10 years road map (2021 to 2030) and a 5
year strategic plan (2021 to 2025) in order to support the country’s development
plan and government services sector road map. In 2020/2021 alone, we have
provided trainings on various topics to more than 9,200 leaders and employees
drawn from governmental, non-governmental and private sector organizations.
In addition, in the past year, more than 200,000 leaders and employees used our
facilities at our head office in Addis Ababa and our training center at Debre-
zeit for their trainings, workshops, conferences, discussions, retreats and other
gatherings.
What do we do?
We provide need-based management development trainings, consultancy
and research services that can solve the problems of client organizations.
Related to training, we deliver more than 500 trainings on more than 60
training courses/areas using our highly qualified and committed internal
and associate consultants (practitioners from different sectors outside the
institute). We also offer special training programs in collaboration with best
performing similar local and international firms operating in the country.
Based on your needs we provide consultancy services in different areas.
We also conduct problem-solving (applied) researches, action-oriented
studies, and diagnostic assessments and recommend appropriate courses
of action (HR Audit can be an example). Competency-based assessment
services to organizations envisaging to recruit/ competent new employees
is also an area we are working on.
How do we do it?
To make our training service flexible and more convenient to our clients,
we deliver training in two major training modalities: open/regular train-
ing and tailor-made training arrangements. While the open trainings are
carefully designed based on the findings of our annual market surveys,
the tailor-made trainings are crafted based on training needs assessments
conducted for each requested organization and area. In addition, with the
preference of our clients, we provide trainings in our suitable training fa-
cilities, at our training center in Bishoftu or at our Head Office in Addis
Ababa, or at your preferred location, be it in your premises or at a venue of
your choice.

We offer flexible price schemes depending on the service type (i.e., train-
ing only, facility only, training and facility combined, the training modality,
length, the level of the consultancy service, and so on). Regarding mode of
training technique we follow a participatory adult training methodology
that makes trainees to actively engage in the classroom training process and
share their practical experiences and learn from fellow trainees.
1. Training Programs
To make our training service flexible and more convenient to our clients,
we deliver training in two major training modalities: open/regular train-
ings and tailor-made trainings.
Tailor made trainings can be carried out wherever suits you. You can
choose our fully equipped training facilities at our Head Office in Addis
Ababa or at our training center in Bishoftu (Debrezeit), 47 km. from
Addis Ababa, or at your organization’s premises, or at your preference
venue. In consultation with us, you can also determine the date and
time frame of the trainings. The trainings can take place in the week-
days or weekends or after working hours or on half day bases, in one
segment or in more interval segments, based on time availability of
your professionals and contents.

We also provide consultancy services to our clients in various areas. Some

3.Competency assessment
Recruitment, selection, hiring and assigning competent and competitive
employees to job positions is critical for the success of any organization.
Thus, the Institute provides competency assessment examinations for em-
ployees and leaders for assisting organizations hire promote or assign the
‘right person to right position’. In addition, it provides competency devel-
opment services on the basis of competency gap assessment.
4. Research Services
With regards to research, some of our areas are:
Our Head office training center, which is located in the eastern part of Ad-
dis Ababa at the CMC road, opposite to Sehalite-Mihiret Church, is one of
the most preferred centers to organize different national and international
meetings, workshops and forums.

In both centers, we have more than 44 training rooms as well as halls, and
we will be there to serve you with air conditioned and comfortable training
halls, syndicate rooms, modern restaurants and IT facilities. We, therefore,
invite Civil Service Organizations, Public Enterprises, Private Organiza-
tions, International Organizations, and NGOs to benefit from our stan-
dardized facility services.
6.Other
Facilities
A.Management Competency Certification Service
Delegated by the Ministry of Trade we provide the issuance of management
competency certification service to individual professionals. The main ser-
vices are:
• Issuance of new management consultancy competency certificate;
• Renewal of management consultancy certificates every two years;
and
• Replacement of lost or damaged management consultancy
certificates
B. Audiovisual Service
For the clients training & workshop programs, EMI has arranged a video/
audio and photography service in place and all at affordable rates.
C.Library Service
We have libraries at our head office and at DMTC to give participants an
opportunity to read books and other resources. The resources include
books and documents on variety of subjects, newspapers and magazines
and other documents.

1. ስልጠና ፕሮግራሞች
ስልጠናን በተመለከተ ከ60 በላይ የተለያዩ ኮርሶችን ከፍተኛ ልምድ ባካበቱ በውስጥና
በውጭ አማካሪዎች/አሰልጣኞች አማካይነት የምንሰጥ ሲሆን ልዩ ፕሮግራሞችን
ደግሞ በሃገሪቱ ውስጥ በተመሳሳይ ዘርፍ ከተሰማሩ ምርጥ ሀገራዊ እና ዓለም
አቀፋዊ ተቋማት ጋር በመተባበር እንሰጣለን፡፡ የስልጠና ፕሮግራሞቻችን መደበኛ
የስልጠና ፕሮግራም እና ተቋም ተኮር የስልጠና ፕሮግራም ተብለው በሁለት ዋና
ዋና ክፍሎች ይከፈላሉ፡፡
2. የምክር አገልግሎቶች
ኢንስቲትዩታችን በተለያዩ የስራ አመራር ልማት ጉዳዮች ዙሪያ የማማከር
አገልግሎቶችንም የሚሰጥ ሲሆን ብቁ እና ተወዳዳሪ ሰራተኞችን መቅጠር
ለሚፈልጉ ተቋማትም የብቃት መመዘኛ ፈተና እንፈትናለን፡፡ በተጨማሪም
ከሌሎች በተመሳሳይ ዘርፍ ላይ ከሚሰሩ ተቋማት ጋር በመተባበር የጥናት
ጉዞዎችንም (study tours) እናዘጋጃለን፡፡
5.ፋሲሊቲዎች
ከዋና ስራዎቻችን (ስልጠና፣ ምክር፣ እና ጥናትና ምርምር) በተጨማሪ
በኢንስቲትዩታችን ውስጥ የራሳቸውን ስልጠና፣ ወርክሾፖች፣ ስብሰባዎችና
ሌሎች ሁነቶቻቸውን ማዘጋጀት ለሚፈልጉ የሲቪል ሰርቪስ ተቋማት፣ የመንግስት
የልማት ድርጅቶች፣ የግል ድርጅቶች፣ ዓለም አቀፍ ድርጅቶች፣ እና ሌሎች
አገልግሎት ተጠቃሚዎች የተሟላና ምቹ የፋሲሊቲ አገልግሎት እንሰጣለን፡፡
በአዲስ አበባ በሚገኘው ዋናው መስሪያ ቤታችን እና ቢሾፍቱ ከተማ በሚገኘው
በደብረዘይት ሥራ አመራር ማሰልጠኛ ማዕከል ውስጥ ከ44 በላይ የተደራጁ ምቹ
የስልጠናና የመወያያ ክፍሎች፣ የመሰብሰቢያ አዳራሾች፣ ዘመናዊ ሬስቶራንት እና
የኢንፎርሜሽን ኮሚዩኒኬሽን ፋሲሊቲዎች አሉን፡፡ የስልጠና ክፍሎቻችን በፍላጎትዎ
7. ሌሎች ፋሲሊቲዎች
ሀ.የኦዲዮቪዡዋል አገልግሎት
የኢትዮጵያ ሥራ አመራር ኢንስቲትዩት ለደንበኞች ስልጠናና ዎርክሾፕ ዝግጅቶች
የቪዲዮ/ኦዲዮ እና የፎቶግራፊ አገልግሎቶችን በተመጣጣኝ ዋጋ ያቀርባል፡፡ የቪድዮ
ኮንፈረንስ አገልግሎትም ይሰጣል፡፡
ለ.የቤተ-መጻህፍት አገልግሎት
ደንበኞች መጻሕፍትን፣ ሰነዶችን፣ ወዘተ መጎብኘት ይፈልጉ ይሆናል፡፡ ወይም
ደግሞ በዓለም ዙሪያ ምን አዲስ ክስተት እንዳለ ለማወቅ ይፈልጉ ይሆናል፡፡.
ቤተመጽሐፋችን በበቂ መጽሐፍቶች፣ መጽሔቶች፣ እና ጋዜጦች የተደራጀ ሲሆን
በፍላጎትዎ መሰረት አግልግሎት ለመስጠት ዝግጁ ነው፡፡
ሐ. የቢሮና የፅህፈት አገልግሎቶች
ደንበኞች ለስራ አመራር አገልግሎቶች ቢሮ ሊፈልጉ ይችላሉ፡፡ ለዚህም
የተሟሉ መገልገያ ቁሶችን ያሟሉ ቢሮዎችን አዘጋጅተናል፡፡ ከዚህም በተጨማሪ
ኮምፒዩተሮችን፣ ፎቶኮፒዎችን፣ ማባዣና መጠረዣዎችን አቅርበናል፡፡ በዓለም
ዓቀፍ ደረጃ እንዲሁም ከተማ ለከተማ ሊደረጉ ለሚችሉ የስልክ፣ የፋክስ፣
የብሮድባንድ ኢንተርኔት፣ የኢሜልና የመልእክት አገልግሎቶችም በደንበኞች
ፍላጎት መሰረት ምላሽ ለመስጠት በዝግጁነት እንጠብቅዎታለን፡፡
