The teacher shares the learning objectives of the day with the pupils and write the learning
objectives on the board.
PRE-LESSON
The teacher writes HOBBY on the whiteboard. Get pupils to talk about their hobbies. Encourage
participation by asking questions about their hobbies.
1. The teacher writes down points that pupils can use to talk about their hobbies. E.g. type,
when it can be done, benefits, things needed.
2. Elicit ideas for each point by using an example hobby that the pupils have mentioned.
3. The teacher distributes a worksheet. Ask pupils to read about the 3 hobbies in the
worksheet and discuss any points that pupils don’t understand.
LESSON
4. The pupils complete a table by using the information given in the worksheet. Discuss the

answers together after pupils are done.
5. The pupils then fill in missing information to complete a simple text about one of the
hobbies. Check when pupils are done.
6. Using the completed text as a guide, pupils write a short paragraph on one other hobby
in the worksheet and on e hobby of their choice.
POST-LESSON The teacher asks a few pupils to share what they have written with the class.
