NESTLE PHILIPPINES

Although Nestlé goods were accessible in the Philippines as early as 1895, The Nestlé and Anglo Swiss
Condensed Milk Company did not open in the nation until 1911, with its first sales office in Calle Renta,
Binondo.

During World War II, the company was forced to cease operations, but it quickly resurfaced after the war
under a new name: Filipro, Inc. It continued to import items from other nations, including MILO, NIDO
powder milk, MILKMAID, and NESCAFÉ. When the Philippine government introduced import controls
in the early 1950s, Filipro ran into problems. It was compelled to become a distributor of peanut butter,
napkins, fruit preserves, and patis (fish sauce) to keep its operations continuing due to a scarcity of
imported products to sell.

Nestlé S.A. and San Miguel Corporation formed Nutritional Products, Inc. in 1960 as a result of their
relationship (Nutripro). Nutripro's first factory, which produced NESCAFÉ, opened in Alabang,
Muntinlupa, in 1962. Filipro, Inc. and Nutripro, Inc. combined to form Filipro, Inc. in 1977. Nestlé
Philippines, Inc. was formed in 1986 when Filipro, Inc. was renamed Nestlé Philippines, Inc.

To fulfill the expanding demand for Nestlé products in the Philippines, Nestlé today has manufacturing
facilities in Cabuyao (Laguna), Cagayan de Oro, Lipa (Batangas), and Tanauan (Batangas).

Nestlé established the AIJV (ASEAN Industrial Joint Venture) in 1991 as a regional complementation
initiative. The Company took part in this program by producing morning cereals for export to ASEAN
markets at the Nestlé Lipa Factory. To address the needs of Nestlé markets in the region, three Nestlé
facilities in the Philippines — Lipa, Cabuyao, and Cagayan de Oro – now operate as ASEAN Supply
Centers.

Following the purchase of all of San Miguel Corporation's equity interest in the company by Nestlé S.A.
in late 1998, Nestlé Philippines became a wholly owned subsidiary of the latter.

Driven by its central goal to support ages of Filipino families, Nestlé today creates and advertises items
under a portion of the nation's notable brands like NESCAFÉ, NIDO, MILO, NESTEA, MAGGI, BEAR
BRAND, NESTLÉ, and PURINA, among others. Its item range has extended to incorporate espresso,
milk, refreshments, non-dairy flavor, food, baby nourishment, frozen yogurt and chilled dairy, breakfast
cereals, sweet shop, and pet-care.
