14 A cam follower is to obey the following motion program

i. Dwell at 0.0 lift for the first 90 degrees of the motion


ii. Rise to 0.1 inch with SHM from 90 degrees to 150 degrees
iii. Dwell from 150 degrees to 210 degrees
iv. Return 1.0 inch with SHM from 210 degrees to 270 degrees
v. Dwell the remaining 90 degrees of the cam rotation.

Given that the angular velocity of the cam is constant at 200rpm

a) Determine the equations for the displacement of the follower (0-360 degrees)
b) Derive the equation for the velocity of the follower
c) Derive the equation for te acceleration of the follower

Plot all the three figures and show displacement, velocity and acceleration values at key points. Use
30 degrees in the rise and return regions.

and C are at 900 to one another. Find for complete balance;
i. The Axial distance between the planes of revolution of C and D
ii. The Mass of B.
